If the bodybuilder learns some technique and gets enough training he could be effective. Lifting weights isn’t bad when you make it sports specific. That and get proper conditioning with anaerobic exercise to stress those muscles to deal with the lactic acid when punching yourself out.

Bodybuilder vs Sanda Coach just looked like a friendly sparring match. I much prefer those kind of spars when the experience is vast.
@bbqtool2 жыл бұрын
The first "body builder" is good. I saw worse amateurs at the olympics. Let's talk technique, not even physicality and posture. Compared to the coach, (who himself wasn't trained very well) hands up all the time, punches from the hip and knew his rhythm to time that right perfectly in between the one-two. It is so nice to watch fighters like that. I hate watching knocks outs at the best of times, but can we talk about his right leg as he goes down? Owwwww
@austinsavage2 жыл бұрын
The first “coach” basically got hit by the same right cross twice. I question his coaching credentials

First fight “bodybuilder” wasn’t without experience. Last fight wasn’t a dojo storm it looked peaceful and more of a spar. I’m a believer in testing yourself as long as it’s done respectfully. Dojo storming isn’t respectful. Then when you think you’ve got it and start screaming about how you’re a warrior try actually fighting in a prison cell made of concrete and steel with hard edges of the bunk beds after running 300 yds to get to it or a war zone in rubble without rules carrying 45-60lbs of gear. Level up to life

I've been boxing for years and have gone to different gyms. It's always entertaining when gym bros and gym trainers try out boxing. I usually just evade and play around with them. They usually tire out by the end of the first round.

@kevinlobos55192 жыл бұрын
Welp, lesson here is that you can absolutely deck someone who's considerably bigger and stronger than you, but your margin of error is very small. If the bigger oponent conects a single good hit all of your training advantage can be nullified. Seems like you need to know perfectly when to play it safe and when to go on the offensive, because you certianly need to put in more hard and well placed shots to actually hurt somebody thats that much bigger than you.
@rohitchaoji2 жыл бұрын
The first guy didn't look like a bodybuilder to me. Not trying to body shame him but he's a bit too small for one, don't you think? He looks like a fairly athletic and fit guy, just that bodybuilding is not his sport. His muscles don't have the roundness and definition that bodybuilders specifically train for. Unless he got into it 4-5 months ago and was skinny prior to it.

Anyone can get in a lucky punch, but for the most part a trained fighter should wipe the floor with a body builder any day of the week! If you aren't trained to fight, you have no sense of timing, no technique, no knowledge of reading your opponent. The only thing a body builder has going for them is a hard punch, but a trained fighter should be able to hit harder regardless.
