Half of these situations could have been resolved through de-escalation. 1st guy looks mentally unstable/ on stimulant drugs; and only becomes aggressive after being yelled at and tazed. Notice that he also doesn't attack any officers directly, only defending himself from harm (I know he's being arrested but he wasn't confrontational until after officers escalated). 2nd guy is a veteran who obviously looks mentally unstable. And what does the cop do? He starts ordering the guy around and then starts grappling him as he walks away! 5th guy just found out his spouse was cheating on him with his 'friend', and was obviously extremely upset. The officer then asks him to move out of the rain, and when the guy refuses, the officer talks down to him and crowds him. Then the officer grapples the guy and shouts at him to get on the ground, providing no justification for why, until later where his justification is "I told you to get on the ******* ground". The guy is then tazed, tazed again, and tazed even as he is in the process of sitting down. The video cuts several times, justifying what is going on but it's hard to watch, especially when the takeaway is to "not mess with cops". A majority of these altercations could have been deescalated if the officer on duty had the slightest idea on how to deal with something non violently. More training is necessary so that they have other tools to deescalate than violence and intimidation.
