Thank you for the video. I rescued 65 Japanese Maples that were in ground and were going to ne bush hog and successfully potted and then replanted around my house. I have always used pine needles in the fall each year and they have been doing good. But now some are seemingly to struggle it's July and hwat stressed so slow watering to start. Is there a fertilizer I can use now to help but not hurt going into winter. Thank you for your help.

How about Lime application for the Ginkgo's. A ag extension person told me a couple applications of a cup of lime on the young ones would help in our mostly neutral soils for a few years would help??

Just planted a new maple tree, half sun in the day and have shade. Maple is one and a half feet tall and dropping brown leaves, could use some help. In a small amount of Biotone fertilizer when planted I am watering every day. Any thoughts how to rejuvenate it is July in New Jersey.

Japanese maples have two flushes of growth in a season. I like to apply osmocote right at the beginning of each flush.

That could potentially keep them active depending on the distribution rate. Just check to make sure it’s not 180 day release when using any after time May is our suggestion.

One dose should be ok I wouldn’t double as it isn’t an exact measurement

I live in eastern NC. And my one year old Japanese maple has dry cracking leaves right now ( the middle of October). It has moist soil. It has some new red leave growth coming it and some green leaves. It’s an emperor 1 by the way. Do Japanese maples typically lose leaves this time of year or do you think it might have an issue? I haven’t seen any pests on it.

Make sure it isn’t staying to wet. It isn’t uncommon as they are getting established this time of year

We use a custom commercial mix that is only available in bulk. The breakdown is 15-8-6. Most will work as long as the nitrogen isn’t to high and done in moderation
