So much ignorance in the comments. Leo, I do not comment much because I find it to be non-productive, but you have no idea how much the left needs this. You aren't coming at the left from a right leaning perspective nor are you grifting to a right wing audience. You are encouraging self reflection and doing a great service. I am an avid progressive who listens to Sam Cedar, Kyle Kulinski, Vaush etc. I am thankful for this series because it helps me take a more nuanced perspective.

I totally agree with your point.... Sadly though, I can't agree that those people you mentioned have integrity. I used to follow all three of them actually, until I saw multiple accounts of them smearing others without solid ground to stand on. I think you should really look into some other leftist content and see if you find a more integral perspective. You've found yourself here, listening to this, which has a lot of great perspectives in my mind. The left DOES need it's own critics, but it's also hard to be critical without resorting to ad hominem attacks, which really requires more nuance. That's not to say eventually you can't rule people out as who you want to listen to, but it would really be nice if we could get down to discussing concept and theory over who are the ones spreading it. Integral people are hard to find, and I'm sure there are people I listen to still who lack some, but I try to listen to the points first and foremost. The message is still more important than the messenger, which on a platform such as this, is literally the opposite of what's promoted. It's like identity politics on steroids, sadly. I hope we can eventually move more into a system of integrity. Not sure how that will happen, but at least the few of us who see it can start to try to live in the way we want to see the change. I hope you don't take this as an attack, but just an encouragement that there's more interesting commentary out there than the people I also once was following.... not that they don't have some things right either. I just know there's a much deeper story here, and the crisis seems to go over the head of the vast majority of people, especially in political circles and channels

Perhaps the thing that bothers me most is liberals seeing racisism in everything and flippantly labeling conservatives as racist. If they could only understand how much damage is done by convincing people of color that 40 percent of the population is racist and the system is against them. Why try in school or graduate or pursue a trade or career if that were true? Leo is correct, very few people are actually racist. What these liberals see is confirmation bias. We need to search for truth, identify our bias, listen and understand eachother.

Before watching Leo's presentation I would say that the left has basically the same "us vs them" mentality as the right. Easier said than done, but what is needed is a leap into the second tier of Spiral Dynamics. The us-vs-them mentality goes very deep into the entire evolution of humanity and planet Earth, and "going meta" might be fairly easy in theory but challenging in practice.
@paulbraunstein22902 жыл бұрын
I’ve gone meta and you’re correct, it is difficult. Seeing things for what they are without judging them can make life seem more simple but can take away the zest. Humans love ideology and frameworks to describe what they see and experience. If you go meta, many people will not understand you. I think it’s how you act. If you are balanced some other people may follow you by example, which can certainly be beneficial for them. It has certainly made me more content with ‘what is’ rather than what I want things to be.

I'm gay and appreciate a lot of what Leo said about LGBTQ. He left out one important part. Lumping LG and B in with the Ts is a new thing and it's creating a lot of problems. Most (not all) gender non conforming kids turn out gay over time so transitioning kids is actually a form of conversion therapy against gays. Also, gay is about being same sex attracted and doing away with the concept of sex is therefore complicates the definition of being gay. Males are actually telling lesbians that rejecting male bodies is transphobic. I'm fine with adults transitioning but they are a different community than mine. I also care about Deaf people but that doesn't mean we should add on the letter D.

Hi there, ever since I started on this consciousness path, I was able to tap so much into my consciousness and discover that I am Awareness and it all felt so good, but now my mind seems to be clamping down really hard, and it's like there's an entity in my head that's constantly over-reactive and causing all sorts of clenching or tightness in my body, it makes me unable to burp or fart or poop easily, it's amplifying the pain I feel from all sorts of things and feelings, and it's affecting my life really much. When I try to talk to this entity, I always get the same answers, it wants me to suffer, and the reason it is here is because of all the consciousness work that I did, and that it is killing it, so it wants me to stop, but I have already stopped for so long, almost weeks, but this entity is still here, and it's just making life harder and harder by the day, I'm like having constipation and bloating just from the fact that mind is so tight that it won't let me release, and my entire life is now centered around finding ways to burp and fart and poop. No matter how hard I try to make peace or be friends with it, it just stays silent, and gives me no answer, and whenever I even think about anything that's slightly triggering to it, like abiding in God consciousness, or meditating, or simply being jolted by sudden movements, and noises, it just goes absolutely nuts, and clenches up completely, making the top of my head feel like there's a clamp on it. I really need help on this, have you or anyone here encountered such a phenomenon before? And what would you guys recommend I do to put an end to this? Is there a way to come to peaceful terms with it? A way for it to just let go if I would stop the meditations? Do I just give it time to calm down? It seems worse and worse each day. Do I keep on practicing meditation regardless of how painful it is and maybe it will be gone forever? But it just feels worse and worse the more I do it, and it always comes back, and it feels wrong to be forcing things like this. I feel like my life is really going to end if I don't find any solutions, anyone who has any idea what's going on and what I should be doing, I would be so grateful to hear from you!

For example the worlds best football player Erling Haaland is from my country and pretty much everyone is proud of him being Norwegian. People however start to get agitated when "extraordinary" people are heavily bragging about their achievements and trying to elevate themselves over other people. It is ok to be better, but rubbing it hard in everybody else's face just don't fly here 😄

Eventually it will carve out a cave with all that erosion (right wing) to hold the water in place. Unless the water evaporates which I’m guessing would be 2nd tier/yellow. What seems clear to me is that a society with such heavily individualistic entitlements is nurturing the sense of narcissism that you speak of and that this is certainly going to have an effect on our culture and society that will cause us to regress and push us back toward a period wherein survival will become more difficult and we will lose these privileges of self-identification. The fact of the matter is that this selfish entitlement does not serve the fabric of social cohesion - the level of luxury and affluence we now have is not something that we will never lose regardless of how we choose to behave, we always will need each other, to depend on one another and be able to rely on one another and that just isn't something that can exist in a society that nurtures the level of individualism we see today that is by nature corrosive to our social cohesion, mutual respect and trust. There will never come a time, regardless of how affluent our society is, where we don't need to prioritize caring about each other's sensibilities or the values and lifestyles and culture that serve our continued success and the cultivation of our collective wealth and power.

Sometimes i think we live all on one globe orbiting around some undefined universe. Still so many troubles diversity etc. With Spyro dynamics I realised maybe we will never overcome identities such as being American, German etc. Etc. And we, will always trying to get in power and dominate others... Maybe one day in future we will see us all as citizens from planet earth... When someone asks me where I'm from (especially abroad) I answer: I'm from planet earth and you? Mostly the other person starts, smiling and answer the same way. Great video leo.thanks

What I remember from this episode: Conservatives get right hard work, tough skin, family, discipline, dignity. We can't judge historical figures by today's values, which can be summarized as 'woke' values. Try to understand the conservative world view. It evolved over hundreds of years for a reason and has been field tested. If I have a problem with conservativism, I need to develop wider understanding. Guns help people feel safe and can legitimately be used to fight off the government if needed.

Can we get a vid on religion and politics and how the left is generally opposed to religion. And since you’re doing videos on the left please also critique the right. Just want to hear what you have to say about right wing

I would love to see another guided meditation that possibly continues like your original yet after about 20 minutes or so you go silent and let us stay in that zone. I have a hard time actually reaching that point where the mind is completely silent without your guided meditation. I want to be able to reach that point and continue to stay at that point for longer than the brief 10 minutes that I am there in the original video before being pulled out.

I’m going to push back a little on the idea of America being the world police and that someone else would come along and do it. Much of the proliferation of this notion is a front for American imperialism where we topple foreign governments and put our own dictator in power. And this creates huge problems in these countries such that the population suffers… and this enables America to extract cheap labor (in addition to cheap resources) from these third world nations that we occupy. And America funds and gives weapons to something like 70% of the world’s dictatorships. So, to frame America’s involvement in these countries as positive and necessary reflects an ignorance to the imperialist nature of American intervention.

Leo is the White liberal that Malcom X warned about. Hey don't push too hard for your rights because it makes conservatives uncomfortable. He's saying this about Trans people now, but in the 50s he would've been direct this message at African Americans. For a guy who brands himself in self awareness, he should've picked up on this. Maybe he's just trying to expand his audience by pandering to rightwingers. It is profitable, so I can see why he would.
@theapplechapel2 жыл бұрын
If Leo was in it for the money he would have stuck with the practical self help stuff. His old videos got a lot more views. This is a very inaccessible video for most people. Also consider that he bashes Trump in every single video - that's no way to appeal to right wingers. You can argue that he is wrong about how to go about creating change in a progressive direction but that is his goal.
@TribeByNoire2 жыл бұрын
@@theapplechapel I don't know because I see a lot of these goofy videos about the left going to far. Meanwhile women's reproductive rights have been rolled back, the police kill more than 1000 people per year, we have 25% of the worlds prison population, but only make up 4.25% of the global population. The idea that the left is going to far isn't supported by any data or policy. According to the data, the left hasn't gone far enough.
@theapplechapel2 жыл бұрын
@@TribeByNoire All the things you've mentioned are terrible things and I think Leo would agree with that. He just thinks the way to make progress on those issues is slow co-operation and edging in the right direction which as we already discussed is debatable. For example on the abortion issue he mentioned it would be better to compromise on 1st and 2nd trimester abortions rather than saying we want abortion full stop. Looking at this issue there are two interpretations: 1. Did we ask too much and scare moderates into the opposite direction? or 2. Did we not ask enough?. Leo supports 1 you support 2 you both want progressive outcomes. I think he's right that if you take things too far the right wing media will spin it and sway moderates. You must be firm in what you demand but you do to some degree have to care about what moderates think.
@TribeByNoire2 жыл бұрын
@@theapplechapel rightwingers have always been an existential threat to threat to the public that have no interest in negotiation. Every push for human rights was met with rightwing violence. Leo is well researched enough to know that. If he was an average normie who wasn't well researched I'd give him the benefit of the doubt.

Great video. Not only LGBTQ is a luxury here in Eastern Europe. As, well the whole climate panic and climate activists are a luxury of a first world democracy. Same goes for the demand of organic food. All topics mentioned above are important to adress. But as you said leo in a pragmatic way. Without all those moral components of making people feeling ashamed or say they're bad when they take an airplane, instead of a train for example. Great, 2,part series...

I think you approached the analysis of progressivist behavior having already labeled them as the green level, and then second-hand their traits to your understanding of the green level, when perhaps this is a completely lower level masquerading as something more advanced on spiral dynamics.

I think a way cheaper and also more useful alternative to space exploration is actually mathematics. We can agree pretty well on mathematics as well. But I'm afraid while with space exploration we can impress red and blue, with maths we can only impress orange and higher.

Maths and space exploration are very different things and are not mutually exclusive. There is value to both.

How can we engage in politics if we aren't looking at the material conditions of the people involved? Just based on vague ideals like freedom or strong work ethic instead? Historical materialism is analysis of the food, water, land, and capital and the relationships between the people who have worked it and the people that have owned it throughout history. This is not the same as your typically discussed philosophical materialism. To say historical materialism is wrong because of the illusory nature of reality is a misunderstanding I think.
@ActualizedOrg2 жыл бұрын
There is a deeper connection though between the two kinds of materialism. The errors of materialism are so deep they are hard to see, and they creep their way into reasoning about politics. It's not an accident that Marxists outlawed religion and spirituality in all the countries where it came into power. Think about it.
@SweetKnock2 жыл бұрын
Yes, I can see the Marxist backlash against religion and idealism as an overreaction. One of my friends from China has lamented to me before about the loss of historical Chinese culture and tradition as a cost of the Chinese Communist revolution and earning independence from Western colonial powers. I can understand the reality of the world that it is ideal, entirely of the mind, but the mind creates these seemingly material relationships that we debate through politics(food, water, housing employment, etc.), right? Is it really possible to completely transcend material approaches when it comes to working towards the systemic survival and empowering of human beings? I believe historical materialism to be one useful tool that is underutilized here in the US that can help lead society to a better balance. To be kept in check for sure though to keep out the stuffy academics.

Hello Leo, your content is really great however I do have a feedback: You refer a lot to the US reality in your teachings, however me who is not living in the US, I need to first understand the US reality before understanding your teachings (sometimes, not always). I just think it could be wiser if you could "internationalize" your teachings. Thanks a lot.
