Don't forget Zolder 1981. All of the mechanics, joined by most of the drivers, staged a strike on the startline of the race. On Friday an Osella mechanic, Giovanni Amadeo, was fatally struck by the car of Carlos Reutemann in the ridiculously overcrowded and narrow pitlane. On Sunday, as the cars were supposed to leave the grid for their warmup lap the mechanics, in protest of their dangerous working conditions, came onto the track and formed up on the startline, thereby delaying the start. Most of the drivers climbed out of their cars to join the mechanics. Eventually team leaders and officials managed to threaten enough of the drivers back into their cars, with Alan Jones (6th on the grid) and Piquet (2nd) starting off on their warmup lap weaving through the crowd of people remaining on track, while several other drivers were still standing outside of their cars. Total chaos ensued. Eventually everyone climbed back into their cars and headed off (totally out of order) onto their warmup lap. Meanwhile Piquet came around to form up in his front row position but completely missed his mark. Rather than push him back, the officials waved him around to do a second warmup lap. Cars that had left late, now had to weave their way up the grid to find their correct starting positions, with Piquet then needing to get all the way to the front. Idling engines were overheating. Patrese, 4th in an Arrows, had his engine quit. Surely they would abort this chaotic start and send everyone on a proper warmup lap. But no! The start sequence was begun. Patrese frantically waved his arms to alert those behind him that his engine was dead. And then Arrows mechanic, Dave Luckett, dashed out to crouch down behind and try to restart Patrese's car. The light went green! Drivers immediately behind Patrese had seen him waving and managed to avoid his stalled car. But Patrese's Arrows teammate, Siegfried Stohr, starting from 13th dove into the gap he saw open ahead of him, and slammed into the back of Patrese's car. Incredibly, Luckett survived with only a broken leg and lacerations. With the two Arrows cars stranded on the track, along with ambulances, marshals, and several others, the race continued with only a double-yellow waved on the front straight. Piquet extended a huge lead, with Reutemann trailing in 2nd, and Pironi 3rd slowing the rest of the field. At the end of the 2nd lap, with Pironi weaving to slow everyone behind him, Pironi brought the field to a stop on the front straight, while Piquet still charging full on in the lead and Reutemann now slowing, completed a third lap. Unbelievable chaos. Sadly Gilles Villeneuve was killed at the same track the following year.

Another story from Zolder 1981: On Saturday, Rene Arnoux, qualifying 25th and thus failing to make the 24-car grid, jumped into his rental car to head for the hotel. A track marshal mistakenly directed him to the wrong exit, where another marshal wanted to make him turn around. Already angry at having failed to qualify, Arnoux just kept going. Trying to make him stop, the marshal jumped onto the hood of Arnoux's car. Arnoux kept going and carried the marshal 3 kms all the way to the hotel. After having dinner at the hotel Arnoux was arrested by the Belgian police and locked in jail.

Very funny for some things that were conductrd by some drivers. In memoriam of some whonhave passed away. In another video sorry I forgot but its was about remembering Gilles he shared a bed with Prost. I wanted to comment what happened why not shared with his teammate? ☺ I really hard a good laugh in imagining somebody tried to escape, Gilles played songs in the piano but taken over by De Angelis played Mozart, Bruno drew a cartoon, Niki did stand up comedy. Reutemann snored and Gilles covered him with a blanket. SMG😃 However the most touching part they shared the same room and just spread the roon with a blanket. Who did a chicken run? 😃😃 Imagine whether orang not the drivers now would do the same.thing just like their seniors. All drivers united. Respect also to the critical ones Didier and Niki. If I"m not nistakan in another video of GP in Kyalami, Didier led the drivers but he was not the only one to have negotiation but with Nelson Piquet. Sorry for some mistakes. Anyway a nice cepat one played in this video. You really make my day.
