Stonehenge is a classic scene that shows the how things can wield out of control with the simplest of mistakes....and yes my amp does go to 11. Great movie, even for a baby boomer to enjoy.

No matter how many times I see Spinal Tap, Stonehenge always cracks me up. It strikes the perfect balance between absurd and strangely plausible.

I was in tears TWICE during this revcap - the timing between the still images and your commentary had me slip a disc

You’re absolutely right - brilliant as it is, Sing. Blue Silver gets more spinal tapish than the tap itself, a couple of times.

I don't remember when, but I swear this is true: The McKean/Guest/Shearer troika's OTHER group, The Folksmen, appeared on a late-night show and performed a cover of Big Bottom, just to cross the satirical streams even more.

I have no trouble believing this is true!

There is a time and a place for deadpan delivery and recital of Big Bottom lyrics by a mature, dignified woman is one of them. In fact I’d like to see “Morgan Recites Spinal Tap Lyrics”. There is sooooooo much to love, aside from the classic scenes. You notice more over time. One thing I missed on initial viewings that is now one of my very favorite beats was when Bobbi Flekman says “money talks and bullshit walks” and just before the camera pans to her Ian Faith scrunches his face in absolute befuddlement (immediately after the aggression of “if the record company is behind the album they can jam it right down their throats.”) It’s up there with “couldn’t god have rested on that day too” “that’s a good one”, and “it’s a complete catastrophe.”

"This Is Spinal Tap" is probably the only Monty Python film made by Americans. 😊

Morgan, I generally don't like to blame other people for what goes on in this old mind of mine. That being said, I just finished painting an equipment rack for a Church black and all I could think of was the bit in this movie about the 'Smell the Glove' album cover and how it could be 'more black'. I blame this on your review of This Is Spinal Tap. I haven't thought about that bit or the 'Smell the Glove' album in years. I think that the only fair thing to do is that you take responsibility for my thoughts for this one instance. I await your reply...

"And the answer is none. None more black!" That bit is going to run through my head for the rest of the day. Spinal Tap is infectious!
