I would agree with you for the most part. Watching the Holyfield fight showed that George still had the power to hurt top heavyweights but the hand speed just wasn’t there in my opinion. Maybe George could have clipped him and finished him late like moorer because I think Holyfield had a better chin than Tyson.

If you look up casual in the dictionary as it pertains to Boxing, you will see Mike Tyson fan boys right at the very Top. @@NateS917Larry Holmes was 38 years old, overweight and retired. His entire training consisted of losing 40 pounds in six weeks. So it doesn't count. Only notable fighter peak Tyson beat was Spinks, who was done with boxing and on the edge of retiring right before they offered him 13 million dollars for the match. He did it just to get paid and didn't follow his trainer's game plan (which were the same that would allow Buster Douglas to beat Tyson later)

@@golf-me2bh Tyson lost to Douglas because he fired Kevin Rooney the year before an account of don king poisoning his head. @golf-me2bh
@golf-me2bh Жыл бұрын
@@NateS917 He was still an active fighter when he fought Holyfield and Lewis. Not retired. And certainly not out of shape. Holmes just came out of a two year retirement and took the Tyson fight on a six week notice, despite being overweight. He was out of shape and had no chance to condition himself properly. So it doesn't count. For the Holyfield fight, however, Holmes was once again an active fighter, so Holyfield's victory over Holmes does count. But Tyson's win over Holmes is as legitimate as McBride's win over Tyson.

@@golf-me2bh Tyson was fresh out of prison for the holyfield fight, so he had about the same amount of time to train as Holmes did. And by the time he fought lewis he was 37, so doesn't that mean holyfields and Lewis "win" doesn't count, going by your logic?

Like cus always said “if the chance ever came for you to fight big George, DONT do it” 😂😭. I train peek a boo and I can say and a LOT of others who know boxing will say that big George would’ve knocked Mike out unless Mike decided to fight a steady 12 round fight. George foreman’s style of pushing down and using his arms as sticks to push you into position of his punches is a NIGHTMARE for fighters that slip on the inside a lot and especially for fighters who mainly fight off the front foot. Tyson would’ve either been dropped two or three times and tko’d or it would’ve been a close 12 round fight where iron Mike might get wobbled but win unanimously. But the right trainer is needed. Before he went to prison, Emmanuel steward and his lawyer were going to contact Tyson regarding his promotional contract with don king which obviously would’ve let to Tyson finding out he’s being bummed for money and he’d either leave and join Kevin Rooney again or join Emmanuel steward and both would be way better than the crazy Italian he had from 94-98 or Freddie roach

@@Dempsey1873 exactly. Hes so humble and a great sportsman, he wouldnt say something like "the fight never happened because Tyson was avoiding it" nowadays. Its only logical that it was Mike who cancelled the fight. George had nothing to lose, no title, he had fought way bigger punchers than Mike so he knew he would be fine. Complete opposite for Mike, he never had to deal with a puncher like Foreman his entire career, and he was at disadvantage risking his title.

Young foreman pivot stepping to cut off their footwork isn’t some elite footwork… he slowly applied pressure and once he was close enough all footwork went down the drain. Bc Ali already senile. In his fight with big fella he chose not to fly like a butterfly, he wanted to stand toe to toe with George but in the beginning ali was getting pieces up too much then Ali started bouncing around tiring George out and was able to take foreman’s hooks no problem even started talking to George.
