Hey Justin, sounding good. I couldn't help but notice your guitar and was wandering what the brand is. I couldn't figure out the logo if it was DG or a butterfly or what. Who made your guitar? It has a very nice sound to it.

I've been learning the guitar since January and I've been trying to play this song for weeks. So far you're the only person who doesn't play the C barre chord in an A-shape - is that intenional? My hands, fingers and wrist really hurts when I try to use only my index finger and ring finger to play that chord shape - i just can't do it. But this version I have a better chance of, thank you!

Hope I can ask a newbie question related to Eb tuning and this song. What I am curious about is this. Since there are no open notes in these power cords, why can't the cords just be played one fret lower rather than changing the tuning from open E to Eb? I must be missing something in my thinking, but seems like it should sound the same?
@Pbnj13794 жыл бұрын
The solo has an open G string in it. It also just sounds a little different in Eb tuning.
@Reginaldesq4 жыл бұрын
Other than the open G that pbnj mentioned you could. Since you are not playing in Eb tuning the strings would have more tension in them, however you are playing a longer string (fret is further), which should result in less tension. Should pretty much balance out.
@dvcavall4 жыл бұрын
Thanks. I ran into this with Sweet Child of Mine that doesn't have open notes at the intro, and couldn't understand why everyone keeps saying to tune down to sound like the original rather than just playing one fret down. I get it is sort of like #\b calling, one is technically correct, but essentially the same. Thanks again.
@Reginaldesq4 жыл бұрын
@@dvcavall I believe you are correct. It is possible that some people with good ears could tell the difference in sound due to differences in tension but I'm pretty sure the difference would vary more between 2 guitars.

Green Day were NEVER punk!! Hell, for all we know, they could’ve been an industry plant to revive punk in the early 90’s; along with Blink182, Avril Lavigne, etc... You “could” throw The Offspring in there, but I’ve always thought they held, for their sake, most of the true core tenets of punk in their sound. Oh yeah, back to Green Day... if THEY are in the RR HOF, that shows you the level of credibility of that sham of an institution!! And yes, I will mention these bands because they’ve earned mentioning: Maiden Priest Motörhead Slayer Megadeth Boston Bachman Turner Overdrive Soundgarden Pat Benatar (Sexist much!!) New Order Sonic Youth Kate Bush Kraftwerk (The Black Sabbath of Electronic) John Coltrane
