Oh god I'm 19 mins in the video just eating my food and enjoying the video saying poor purple ... And you just clicked on purples name.... It's me😂😂 this game must've been recent but I completely forgot about it. Ggs Pete, glad I made it on the channel. Edit: Just finished the video, I definitely remember the game now. Hey man bad neighbor or not it's really nice to play with you. My game went from trying to snowball and kill everyone to desperately negotiate for 2nd place 😂 But it worked out and I didn't lose my GM rank. Edit 2: Nevermind pete, re-watched the video and now I'm mad at you. I remember the game better now and you broke me at a critical time (I got a bit unlucky that black bot beat the shit out of me, because black was a homie before) but at 15:03 I left half my stack in bottom of Russia or top of orient so orange can't hit up high and I retain my bonuses thinking I don't need to defend against red and black because they're homies. Thought you'd take Russia and then I'd fight black while you fight orange, but you had to backstab the living shit out of me. I think I knew I couldn't snowball anymore and thought the smartest thing not to lose my rank is to play passive and keep friendly with you even though you did break hoping you take on other opponents. (I also remember the thumbs up I gave you in the end, it was more of an hey f*** you but it worked out okay for me type of thumbs up) anyway it was super fun watching this in another perspective. Ggs. You lost me as a homie pete but I'm still a fan ❤.

I liked your game I might have gone for the black kill at some point but I figure it's tough to see where everyone is from the middle position. Wouldn't the 2 in Estonia have been a brilliant cap choice? It's the only way to get to russia through the middle and you have a decent claim on the eastern europe and russia bonus and it does have 2 external territories

I could be wrong, but I think the reason you were able to win here was because purple was a GM. Had he been a novice he likely would have suid into you and allow yellow to take the board

Sooooo Pete this happened... I hear a little voice from the back bedroom saying.. "Helloooooo, Risk Takerrrrssss" and then some mumbling, so of course I go and check this activity as any good parent does. and my 6 year old is in his bedroom with his Batman toy and all the bad guys of Batman surrounding him and he is talking as Batman using your Intro phrase the bad guys before he fights them all and arrests them.. I watched in secret for a few more minutes he sets them up all again and repeats the phrase. In the past few days I have been teaching him how to play a bit now. Your show has introduced a 6 year old to the wonderful game of Risk, so thanks for your content. Nice Work.

I suspect that when you see three players from a relatively small country all in your game, you might be thinking they are one person and going to team up through the fog

Two dudes joined the lobby at the same time. Same flag. I kick one. Very often the second doesn't ready up. Until the game protects us from cheaters we need to protect ourselves.

I think I would have picked the Baltic cap. It controls one of the pathways into Russia. I would focus on taking Russia then the orient.

What I love about this map is the ability to predict not only who is where based on the bonuses but who isn't there. You can usually find the fish by process of elimination and inferring who likely is at war with whom

I do think pete is correct about the fistbump. I don't have it on my account either since I just started, but I'm about to hit master anyways. I think the bump would make communication a little easier, especially with players who are bad at communicating. I don't think it's that big of a deal though, and more often than not the other players can understand you with just the basic emote options

I dont think Purple realised their cap was open to attack on their last turn. Since Pete can see his cap that mean that one of his territories connected to it. Could have broke a lot more, good game by Purple though

My impression of that is that Purple submitted to end a lost game earlier by leaving his troops off-cap - a bit like surrendering without bloodshed or something - an honourable move : )

I don't think we have an entitlement to emotes and SMG is perfectly justified in charging for them, however I do think the default means of communication should be a little more comprehensive than it is, and paid emotes should be more of an aesthetic choice than one that can have an impact on gameplay. The fistbump emote isn't a be all end all and I played for a long time without it, but it'd be nice to have some way in the vanilla game to indicate you want to work with someone that doesn't rely on them being a good player and just assuming you will
