13:12 "Yellow is never going to have russia" He says, on a turn where yellow gets 13 troops from no position other than russia.
@Gardolind11 ай бұрын
Yeah lol he mentioned on like 2 or 3 turns how yellow won't be able to get russia right after yellow got the troops from the russia bonus. Surprised he didn't just spend 1 turn stacking in scandinavia to at least check yellow's stack behind the blizzard if not destroy it

The way red even kept opening your capitals he was begging to get punched back. He was definetely trying to hinder your game, don't know if that was an attempt to balance the board or to specifically make you lose
@thimb543311 ай бұрын
Definitely not an attempt to balance the board or maybe it was at first but then it became personal 100% Some players are like that for no reason
@Sputz03211 ай бұрын
Red hitting Pete was a play for second place. Blue was too strong for red to hit, so he was trying to curry favor by hitting blue's biggest opponent.

Shout out to white fir his sacrafice. I think he could also tell they were teaming/the same person.

I wish you could watch a game you’ve already played without the fog. With fog, to me, it appeared red and blue were teaming. Red broke everyone BUT blue, the player who was getting the most troops every turn since turn 2 of the game. Red consistently broke white, yellow, and orange but never blue. He also coincidentally cleaned up the purple kill knowing Orange would get it? Very sus to me.
@LimitBreakr42411 ай бұрын
Game replays and ability to toggle fog or cycle among different players perspective would be tight
@thimb543311 ай бұрын
Well tbh it felt like red was only targeting Pete at the end Red even let white keep his continent when he was smashing Pete’s bonuses
@Sputz03211 ай бұрын
Red was playing for second place. Red did hit blue early, but once blue got super strong, red could only go into white and orange. Red had a bad cap and was quickly pinched. Feeding the purple kill to Pete, and later hitting only Pete, were both plays for second place.

Seriously thanks so much for posting- I have a really difficult time focusing on tasks, and especially ones that I don't want to do. My usual remedy is putting on a long video to listen to and watch passively, and you've filled that need for me these past months!

Pete, thanks for the great content as always. I really appreciate your answer to the question at the end of the video. I can't speak for anyone but myself obviously, but I keep coming back for several reasons: you're entertaining, you have a good sense of humor, you show more appreciation to the viewers than any other channel I've seen, and I also like to hear your viewpoints on things like life, religion, personalities, etc because I live in a place where most people are completely engrained in their position and it is refreshing to hear someone with an open mind explain things. It is something I greatly appreciate. Keep doing what you're doing, and your community will continue to grow.

Risky move at 47:30. Put the card trade on Greece to take the cap in Italy, smash the Austria cap with the Denmark stack and then take the two caps with the Berlin stack - blue wins unless they get pretty bad rolls.

"damn..." (like in top gun 2) ... Usually I feel I see Pete applying simple logic in this game - follow a few easy rules. Usually when I do this and EVERYTHING goes right, sometimes I win.... but its when things go wrong / against you... that's when you see the real skill, and this game Pete really showed some mad skills - I am not really even sure what I was viewing at the end!, well played!

A very nice game you had Pete. If i was in Kylted shoes i would of reported red for collaborating with blue because he was hitting everybody and giving blue the chance to win the game.

The video was entertaining, but I really liked the q and a at the end. I would have liked the video regardless(both liked it, and pressed the like button), but the things you talk, like at the end is the reason I like watching this channel.

Aawwww Pete, you brought a tear to my eye with that comment about being a man alone in a room . On another note, I have heard you have 3 ways to process any info - accept unconditionally, reject outright and thirdly your method, which is assess first. On that note my wife is a stubborn cynic, I am a happy calm optimistic, its like a storm in a teacup sometimes when I get upset and she digs her heels in. My daughter is her mother basically but with my determination to win thrown in and my son is like me, laid back and happy. Great game btw.. I was wondering why you did not finish taking Scandie earlier and why you did not take back, both of which may have been to your advantage btw, as white came back with a stack just after red attacked you, so if you had taken it back you would have lost bad there . Thanks to red. On another note, played a European yesterday with caps, no fog, 90 decs, blitzes on, portals stable, PROGRESSIVE cards . Hmm yes .. Well in a few games I made opponents "Intermediate to Master", well I had a few interesting games but in one a red player just kept attacking me - in the end I suicides into him and chased him around the board, even changing castles and killed him . The other 4 players sat in North Africa, Asia and Russia, with small adjacent countries each thought this was very amusing, which it was. My point is I never attacked red or went into his country and constantly kept retaking and leaving one on border, but every single go, even if I broke or not, he only attacked me. White who had also been broken by him joined in as I got larger. I had Italy start with blizzard at bottom and nicked Castle in Norhern Europe and took UK, so was having a fun time, everyone minding their own business and getting their own larger countries taken slower than me, except for red in France.. who was just a dick the entire game. I came 5th haha

I know you consider your ability to attack quickly an advantageous skill, but it seems like it's an out-of-game advantage more about the user interface than actual Risk play. Would you support something like a rule where 1 second gets added to the timer every time you take a territory? That way, 1v1 endgames would be less about speed and the user interface than Risk play. Thanks for the videos!
@FreePete11 ай бұрын
Yes it would be way better for the game in general to get any mechanical speed gaps out of it and have the skill gaps be more about the better strategy.

That's actually a brilliant idea! At least have an option of choosing increment. I play on mobile - and can just forget about 60 s meta settings. But in 90+ s, I can win.

Hey Pete, always love watching EU Advanced. I agree that it is a great map, but I still need to learn the map, and also fog of war. What map would you say is best for a newbie (but is intermediate) to learn fog of war on?
@grimshawr11 ай бұрын
This map! There are a bunch of ways to read through the fog. Pay very close attention on the first two turns to try to figure out where all of the players are. Then, as you keep track of bonus troops, you can infer where players aren't, and use that to make kills. Watch the dice when a player is attacking, and you can count how many attacks they make, and even see when they are slow-rolling. Watching the cap counter is critically important, and if you know enough about the board state, you can probably figure out whose cap got stolen. Sometimes you can get valuable information from watching the fortifying lines (or lack thereof). Finally, go on a walk from time to time to verify your assumptions. This map is really great because the bonus structure allows you to do all these things very well.

I've been wondering, would it be possible to spawn a map where territories are completely cut off from the rest of the map due to blizzards? An example would be both of the eastern Iceland territories being blizzards, meaning the remaining territory would be inaccessible and would always belong to the person who spawned with it. It's obviously possible in theory but I've never seen it happen
@BjornAyo11 ай бұрын
it would only be possible with fixed portals (the blocked of territory would have a portal as a 1 point)
@tobsi225611 ай бұрын
it's not possible in theory. The devs don't allow the game to generate such pockets. same with spawning with a bonus (only possible if there are many blizzards and it's a 1 or 2 territory bonus)
