I agree with everything you said except for the part about him having a duty to that child. Shawna was r*ping him bc she was using blackmail to force him to have sex with her and also to not wear protection therefore the child is a product of that and the same way I would never say that a woman should have to carry her r*pists child to term and care for it after it is born I can’t say that he had a responsibility to care for that child. Experienced losing my Dad on my 20th bday while in college. I had no one but a boyfriend that I was previously about to end things with because he was horrible to me. After I returned to school from the funeral he knew I was vulnerable & his level of betrayal skyrocketed ( way too much type). I cared but couldn’t fight because the loss of my father was so deep & unexpected I just wanted to hold on to what I knew. So perhaps Heather stayed by intolerable Ig’s side out of grief simply just wanting to hold on not letting go because of the loss she experienced. Just a guess but after learning how to handle grief, what different types of abuse & how to properly date, 10 years later I can’t believe I allowed someone to treat me so bad at any time but especially while grieving. I also hate the saying “ppl do to you what you allow” yes this is true but it’s insensitive & a user mentality. Grief or not you don’t mistreat ppl just because you can. RIP sweet soul Heather

That’s certainly news to me and many, many other men who’ve had partners say “if you don’t have sex with me then x”. Same goes for protection. I definitely think Shanna thought wearing her husband's clothes/shoes and driving his truck would be enough to get him locked up for the murder of Heather, which would leave her and Ignacio with their twisted "happy ever after." Something also tells me that Ignacio was not truly threatened by Shanna the way he says.
