@@nl9833 i never said they were but they could have offered a better solution given that they probably have more experience with certain situations. In addition, there have been instances where people request police escorts for situations that could turn dangerous. The first example that comes to mind is evictions when the police escort landlords to serve and/ or implement an eviction notice.

The accusations that he SA'd his son were particularly horrifying to me. What too many people don't understand (or don't care about) is that when these accusations are made, the child WILL be put through a VERY invasive series of physical exams. If you make a false accusation of sexual misconduct, you are actively choosing to deeply traumatize the child.
@AliSakurai

Either she didn't think that through or she just didn't care. I'm leaning towards that she didn't care.

That really stuck me. Anyone who has gone through childhood sexual abuse especially from a family member knows how difficult it is to heal from that. To want to put your child through that, put the idea in his head and create this is so ridiculously cruel.

It's a big reason why a lot of non-custodial fathers don't make more effort to get more time with the kids. It gives every spiteful woman cart blanche to emotionally ruin her ex while destroying his reputation

That’s what I thought about too. She would rather traumatize her child so she could maintain control. Tells me everything I need to know about her as a mother.
@susanandrew6453

Vile. I used to represent children in custody cases. In one case, involving a boy of 3 and his sister who was 5, the children's maternal grandmother demanded to see me, insisted that the father was sexually abusing both children, and that she would have me disbarred if I didn't go to the police about it. Neither I nor any of the children's teachers, neighbours, GPs, etc., had seen any evidence whatsoever to support this. The children clearly adored their father, and showed no sign of fearing him or of being reluctant to spend time with him; if anything, they seemed slightly more comfortable with their father than with their mother, though they had an easygoing relationship with both parents. I told the grandmother that state law at that time required that anyone with a good faith belief that a child was being abused had a legal duty to report it, and that failure to report it could result in misdemeanor charges being brought, or even in some cases, felony charges. I made it clear that if she honestly believed the children were being abused and failed to report it, she could find herself being charged, but that I myself would not be reporting something I did not believe was happening. That shut her up immediately, and I ended up recommending joint custody for the children, who thrived under this arrangement.

Honestly this is just so heartbreaking to the women that ACTUALLY get sexually abused in a marriage/relationship. Leaving a 6 year relationship, 1 year and 7 months married, she is part of the reason women aren’t believed much. It’s so scary finally leaving and trying to speak the truth because you feel like you won’t be believed.

Considering how the shooter was a 12 year Marine veteran, a "skilled marksman " then wouldn't you think he wouldnt have been so caught off guard when Greg shone the light on him? He was watching the 2 the whole time. Not only that but him claiming "he fired off 6/7 shots before he knew it" completely contradicts his military career and his current career. There was no way that this could be considered an accident. Even if you're a noobie to guns, when you fire an AK-47, theres a certain amount of pressure to pull the trigger, the recoil is so big that its gonna bruise your shoulder. There's no "oopsie, did I just fire this big-ass gun?"

“I would never take my child’s father away from him.” Yet she continually lied about abuse towards her and her son. Then tried to get full custody even though Greg wanted to be a present, active father. Put the crocodile tears away.

Love this case. Never knew they tried to say him showing up at the park was a sign he was guilty of something in court. While a silly decision, it ultimately freed him and his son from his ex. They likely would have planned another hit and perhaps been successful had he not gone that night. It all worked out and the way I see it, this man took a bullet for his son.

the bullet just missed greg’s heart and they dared to say that he didn’t intend to kill him??? why would you shoot someone in the chest if you didn’t intend to kill them?? he had such an advantage too he was high up, behind plants he could’ve just laid flat on the ground. i don’t believe marines are taught such sloppy techniques, unless they’re just used as disposable weapons. which could be argued either way honestly, but idk everything about the story contradicts something else.

I also suspect the faint was fake to get the attention back on her. Perfect moment when he was sentenced and it wasn't about her.

Have you ever heard of Ursula Sunshine Assaid? This was a case in the 80's and what she endured was horrible. A classmate of mine in middle school, his mother helped write a book about her story. It was a sad story to say the least.

I’m glad this happened so she went to prison because my feeling is she would have abused her son emotionally, mentally and physically if she was still around. After all, she was medicating him at age 2 for UNDIAGNOSED fibromyalgia!! Traumatic

My narcissistic ex/sexual abuser was just like Diana. She couldn't stand to see me just move on so she lied to all my friends claiming I was abusing her and turned everyone against me, and even started dating one of my friends to make it seem like I was a crazy jealous ex. Just a word of advice to other survivors who are trying to start dating again, never underestimate how well a narcissist can manipulate people and how low they will stoop to get their way. Just look at Diana Lovejoy's case. Once you see those red flags, just run. And always keep your faith in humanity alive that there are amazing people in the dating world who will love you and want to grow with you. You just have to draw your boundaries and be selective with who you choose to share your energy with.

For a man to go out there and willingly date hoping to find that one unicorn... It's like a man going into a lions den and trying to pet multiple lions hoping to find the one that will let him hug it. Statistically he's going to be bit or killed before he finds a docile lion.

while i know the feelings abuse victims have towards their abusers can be complex and conflicted, it strikes me as really bizarre that diana was walking around accusing her husband of abusing her and her son, apparently desperate to get custody to protect them both from this supposedly dangerous man, but then when the time comes to get sentenced she's all "i loved him, i still love him, i would never hurt him or try to take my son's father away!" she could not be more obviously making up the abuse allegations. they were convenient for her until she was charged with attempted murder, and that's when the convenience ran out--now she "loved" him again. what an awful, manipulative person. i hope greg and his son are living a comfortable, safe, and happy life together now

Two women I have known also claim abuse against nearly every person in their lives, and almost always their spouse/partner. Because of the amount of daunting domestic violence that actually happens to women, they know they can use it as a cover-up for their own erratic behavior because people believe them. In both cases, they were clearly lying and being physically and emotionally abusive themselves. It has been some of the most truly terrifying human behavior I've ever witnessed, and I stay faaaar away from women like that, even if it means cutting off a family member.
