Yeah, I'm pretty sure that half the reason Subaru wanted to be an idol is so she could hang out with her peers and make more friends. She's just that outgoing, its like she knows her childhood was rough and she didn't get to enjoy it as much as other kids would have, so she is making up for lost time.

As LG noted, in Japan, traditional people tend to be (for us) overly reserved and polite, both as a host and as a guest. Korone seems to have been raised in a traditional household, so her naturally outgoing and friendly demeanor would be tempered by her upbringing (as well as a bit of nervousness from being a bit of an introvert), thus leading to her being casual in some setting but surprisingly reserved when visiting friends or having them visit her.

I relate really hard to Korone's food thing. I don't really know why, but it feels *super* invasive to eat other people's food, even if they're offering it. So I do the exact same thing where I just won't eat when I'm at someone else's house, even good friends or family.
