Correction: Taijutsu is the grandpa of jujutsu, and is about grappling. Atemijutsu is the grandpa of a variety of punch and kick japanese arts, like Karate. There is no jujutsu or karate on Ninjutsu just because these arts are modern compared with it. Kempo isn't japanese, but come from some "ninja-like" traditions outside Japan. Ninja was spies and infiltrators. Combat was his last alternative, so although they know how to take care of themselves in conflicts, don't expect fighters.

I trained for years in Ninjutsu/Taijutsu. The only one actually trained that fought was Steve Jennem back in the day. He incorporated some things that most people wouldn't notice. Pinching to make someone move where you wanted, etc... Real Ninjutsu is a life way, not a sport. True Ninjutsu fighting is often thought as sophisticated street fighting. Whatever works to win, no matter how "dirty", you do.

Great examples of martial cross training - kicks common to Korea (Tang Soo Do, Tai Kwon Do, and more), hand techniques common to several hard styles, including traditional western boxing, Judo & Jujitsu holds and throws. LOL might even be some Jeet Kune Do (which always includes martial cross training - per its founders philosophy). Loved all the knockouts, though.
