@@Taziod Key frames are basically the main frames of animation. For example the pose of Ryu having his hands fully extended during the Hadouken is a key frame and so is the initial charge motion he does with his hands. That A3 port is an interesting one. I always like to see these impressive opmitized ports, which was sadly (but naturally) a rarity in the 90s and early 00s. It's just sad that not every company could put the effort to use up those older hardwares to the best. There were many mediocre to bad ports on the Gba and other consoles like a GG port, KoF port, etc... but the A3 port is much superior to all of them.
@stevesteve05213 жыл бұрын
I bought the gba because of Mario Kart super circuit , Castlevania circle of the moon and F zero maximum velocity but alpha 3 and Super turbo revival were both highly anticipated ports for me on the gba when they where announced and I think they both delivered big time for the hardware they were on.

Just yesterday I was digging through the closet of my childhood bedroom and I found a handheld gaming magazine issue from 2000. In it was a short review with a C- score for this odd artifact of a Street Fighter game and closed it out with saying, "If you want to play fighting games on a portable system, get a Neo Geo." They weren't wrong. (this version of Alpha didn't even have multiplayer if I recall) Then Desk comes along and makes it look like a damn respectable fighting game. Also, Sodom looks really cool in this art style. The stark shadows make him look more mysterious and dangerous.

There is a GB game that has epic fighting mechanics to the point of being used as a title for local tournaments, you need to check it "Power Quest/Gekitō .The Street fighter Alpha 2 for the Snes is also a technical marvel. Fatal Fury 2 for the Genisis is also an interesting fighting game with combo mechanics that don't exist in other ports of the game. There is also "Yuyu Hakusho Makyou Toitsusen/Sunset Fighters" for the genesis, the game is very advanced in its mechanics and graphics as far as 16-bit system is concerned.

Cant believe the possibilities of combos in this game
@snackerfork10 ай бұрын
Most impressive part to me is how well the characters read despite the size of the sprites (which would be even more minuscule on a real GBC) - other GB/GBC fighters like Power Quest had sprites twice as large, but these developers wisely didn't compromise on animation fluidity, RAM, or the number of characters in favor of bigger sprites, even though big sprites look more impressive in screenshots. Making the character design silhouettes and the attack poses read that cleanly with that little detail is a huge testament to the strength of Capcom's character designers and the pixel artists on this port! Really fantastic work.

Crawfish did a great job on this, all things considered. I have both the English and Japanese versions of this game. The Japanese version is still called Street Fighter Alpha: Warriors' Dreams, and keeps the English names on the character select screen, however, after beating the arcade mode, the ending text is displayed in Japanese and the Japanese names of the characters are used instead. Crawfish would make a version of SFA3 for GBA within a couple years of the release of SFA on GBC, sadly that game would lead to their closure. And even weirder is that that game is called Street Fighter Zero 3 Upper in Japan, instead of using the English name like with SFA.
@DragoonMS3 жыл бұрын
I'm not entirely sure, but I think that the GBC version of SFA1 was quite possibly intended more for USA & Europe, with Japan as an afterthought. But with SFA3^/SFZ3^, the Japanese version was released first...
