But now, were we learned so much about her, she is my favorite character. The selfless love she gave to Pink was amazing. And even after she was left alone and heartbroken, she tried to be strong.

+Lea C.-I think this song was perfect on top of it-it really encapsulated Pearl's point of view on her relationship with Pink/Rose, definitely the "through the years I stayed the same. . ." that really hit home. Over the years, Rose changed. Pearl didn't. All she ever wanted, waited for was for Rose to come back to her, no matter how many men there were that found a way into Rose's life. "She began to drift away. . ." She met Greg, and their love blossomed into something more, something Pearl never saw in any of Rose's relationships before. Greg was different. He was special. Rose loved Greg-she was "in love" with him and it broke Pearl's heart to see the love of her life choose another. And when Rose told the Crystal Gems she was going to "go away," to give up her physical form to give birth to a son, Pearl realized that the love of her life was going to die and she could watch as Rose disappeared one day, and never came back and all that was left. . .was her baby son: Steven, a little boy Rose asked her best friend to watch after. :*(.

Yup this right here is a very good interpretation of a single pale rose and the series in a nut shell for pearl.. gonna be honest it took me a while to warm up to pearl. But now knowing her story.. i feel bad I didn't like her much in the past. Now raising Steven and then it being an order from pink to not tell anyone. Geez.. Looking back at that frame towards the end with Garnet and Amethyst, they didn't have a close relationship with Rose, but they both knew Pearl did. And not only losing their leader and, pretty much, mother figure was disheartening, but seeing Pearl break down like that must've been so disheartening. I remember when I was really young my uncle was dying, my mom didn't bring me into the room because she knew it was gonna happen soon. I watched everyone walk out after that. While I was watching this, I relived that feeling. That means you did an EXTREMELY good job. Not just with the artwork, but with the way you've interpreted this.

Pink/Rose loved Pearl, just never in the way Pearl loved her. That kind of love was reserved for Greg alone for her. It took a lot of selflessness for Pearl to accept she was never going to have that kind of relationship with Pink/Rose. She just never expected to witness Pink/Rose die in childbirth. Gems are essentially immortal, even when shattered something's still there. Pink/Rose was the first Gem to truly die and Pearl had to accept that.

You know what I just realized at the beginning of this series we believed that pearl was a rouge pearl that abandoned her diamond to go fight for earth. Then we realize that rose quartz is really pink diamond and then the truth comes out that no matter what pearl has never abandoned her. You can say it was her job but it wasn’t because as soon as the rebellion was over she could’ve left her but she didn’t. I personally love this song, having gone through a lot with my grandma before she passed away 2 years ago. I was with her almost every day, before she died she was actually improving, but one day, I just woke up and went to her house like every day. And came in to find my family crying over her. It messes you up, seeing someone who you love, lifeless. Every day after that I kept hoping that i'd just see her walking around again, happy. I miss her so much. This makes me feel so happy. Aside from the sadness THIS IS ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!
