Wise words for all of us to consider and pray over. I know I'm still a baby Christian but these videos are helping to feed me and grow :)

Marty Blackman If you’re a baby Christian then you have attained the highest level of spiritual acceptance available. How many time does Christ say....unless you become as a little child..... Dude...you’re way ahead of the thirty, fourth, year pew sitter. Kudos to you!

Good lesson. ❤ Mature in not growing the body necessarily but mature in the study of Gods word... Understanding to take all the scriptures as a whole. Just like you did by taking the word back to its original language. To get the intent of the writer...Great job ! Not just choosing one word to go back to it's original intent always but also all the words around it also & study the context... You're a very mature teacher...Thanks !

marsh hawk I watched it twice waiting for depth to happen. It never did. Is perfection a reality or not? What does it look like in us? How does it manifest itself? Is it a requirement or an option? Can anyone achieve it? None of these obvious questions were addressed.

Gospel of Thomas. (5) Jesus said, "Recognize what is in your sight, and that which is hidden from you will become plain to you . For there is nothing hidden which will not become manifest." being perfect is being in Christ..being in Christ is being in Love with God..

Few believe in perfection of any kind. Even fewer are those who would like for perfection to be a reality. What would we blame all of our fears, doubts, foolery, judgements, etc, etc, on? Fact is...there are many perfections that are not only attainable but are required if one is to advance in spiritual wisdom. Shame so many fear the word...

As the video was concluding, I realised that it might as be connected to the parable of the talents. We can leave our facilities undeveloped or we can use them; some people will have the ability to do better than others but we are only scolded by the Lord when we don't try.

I am interested in reading a very in depth study of this Greek word. There was an old Keswick saying that I think has some truth in it: "Perfectionism has slain her thousands and Antiperfectionism her ten thousands."

What I find to be most interesting is the intentional taking of verses out of context. 1 Corinthians 14:18-22 KJVS [18] I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all: [19] Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue. [20] Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men. [21] In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord. [22] Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe. Verse 21 was Paul referring to scripture in Isaiah. Isaiah 28:9-13 KJVS [9] Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. [10] For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little: [11] For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people. [12] To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear. [13] But the word of the Lord was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken. These verses in a historical context, point to how the church went from being filled with believers with spiritual gifts and following the Spirit, to largely institutions of man who dwell on the Law of Moses and the Old Testament. www.justifiedfreely.com/?p=993

You are Mature..When you Can Think for yourself! And do Not have to go to someone else to tell you what to Do. Jesus wants you to Seek HIM for Help with your life. He is the Only One who knows what is Right for you. People who are still asking pastors and depending on peoples opinions Will Never Be Mature.

What kind of translation do you/they use?
@ACdagan975 жыл бұрын
Pastor John, you say to be mature doesn't mean to be sinlessly perfect, but rather to have trained to discern good from evil. But then, if I am mature and can discern good from evil, but decide to do evil (because we still sin because we are still not sinlessy perfect), am I still spiritually mature? a little tricky to understand, I hope I expressed my question clearly haha
@robb78555 жыл бұрын
Mature being the same as perfect is a bad translation. If you ever commit sin, you are not perfect on God's standard. Unless, he intends for you to sin? We are being perfected, which will be complete after the ressurection for all those that *libertarian-freely chose* to put their faith in Christ.

6 Yet true godliness with contentment is itself great wealth. 7 After all, we brought nothing with us when we came into the world, and we can’t take anything with us when we leave it. 8 So if we have enough food and clothing, let us be content.

@@bubblegum0411 it's roots are definitely not something a Christian should believe in. However I know Christian women who do it as just a good way for stretching and exercise. Pray to the Holy Spirit and ask him to guide you.

What does it mean by living on milk?
@johnharrington61225 жыл бұрын
Stride 0 , noticing that no one has replied to your question yet, I'll give my take on it. Just as a new infant needs mother's milk for growth from infancy to adulthood , the new believer needs the sincere milk of the Word ! One would need to fully digest Romans and perhaps Galatians for a foundation for growth before moving on to Ephesians or Hebrews for instance.This video is about maturity but I.hope thus helps! Blessings, John ( Ephesians & Hebrews would be more of the " meat & potatoes if you will)
