In their defense, some NFL teams do what they call "tank" where you lose on purpose to improve their draft position. Unless things have changed, I'd guess 1/3 of the teams do that towards the end of the season if its not going to be a playoff year.

He really goes the extra kilometre! He’s from Canada, so I felt metric French spelling was appropriate. There’s one pitch meeting where screenwriter guy uses the word “route”. Producer guy replies also using the word route. One of them pronounced it the Canadian Way (root rhyming with toot) and the other the American Way (rout rhyming with about). It is that kind of detail that makes his comedy priceless. Racking my brains trying to think which pitch meeting it was. I’m going to guess the Phantom Menace because it involves a discussion about trade routes … Confirmed! If you start that pitch meeting at 35 seconds, he says “blah blah taxation of trade routes to outlying star systems.” 😂

This is correct. I am a woman, and not interested in sports, but I’ve lived for 45 years, and haven’t been able to completely avoid seeing this exact thing on screens now and then. “Sports are sports, are they not?” “Indeed. 100%” “This team is really going to have to play to win.” “That’s right. And that’s what they came to do.” Meanwhile, me, slack jawed, like “wut?”

To be fair, the "two feet" comment is clearly indicating players who can "(play) with two feet". Now you might say, well all professional footballers can play with both feet. Yes, to some degree, but there are very few players who are equally good with both feet. Even less so in the modern game. Not that I'm here to defend Owen's commentating as a whole.
