I total understand this. I had the same thing happen to me. I babysat a dog for six months due to owner having family health issues. During that time I formed a bond with the dog. Surprisingly enough on my birthday the owner gave me his paperwork and now we both co-own him. He has been living with me for four years and counting.

I wonder if The guy knows how lucky he was to find her. Such a relief to k ow your dog is safe but huge bonus to know how he is happy. I had tge daughter of a "friend" watch my dogs. After came back, the girl came over to fet paid. My dig backed up a d the hair was upon her back. She cowered under the table. I was livid. Then I found out my dog got out and walked to Walmart, looking for me! She could have been run over. Very busy streets. I let the hubby handle it, they are still alive. But how can you think you can do something like that and get away with it. Next time we asked the neighbor. When we got back he said he came over to let them out but noticed they didn't go. So he went around to see if they went in the house. He found it in the upstairs room, they never even went in-and he cleaned it up. They loved him when he came over. It was a huge relief.

They got married, moved far away, had a baby. 3 months into the new baby, I get a call that the dog and baby combo were too much for new mom. They agreed to fly my running partner dog 2,000 miles to me. We had 12 wonderful years of dog/dog dad companionship ❤🐕👍🏃♂️, and I had the healthiest dog in town

Omg 😭! I started crying at the very beginning of this video. I can totally relate to this girl. I used to work at this very high end dog kennel ( i was a doggie daycare teacher )I worked there for almost 9 years..when i left there i was sooo upset because i was going to miss all my doggie friends. But i did get quiet a few of their phone numbers & kept in touch with their owners & i did get to go see alot of "teacher's pets" at their homes. I would knock at their doors & the dogs would start barking then when the owners would open the door...the dogs would just stop barking You could actually see the surprise on their faces THEN the barking would be of excitement & disbelief that i was there at their house to see them! It always put a smile on everyones face that was around. The next time i would come over ..when i would bark i could hear the dog on the other side of the door sniffing & sniffing then get sooo totally excited & know it was me before the door was opened. The parents told me after my first visit the fur baby would always run to the door & sniff it to see if the company was for them or not.

I also have partial custody of a dog that isn’t mine. I was living with my sister when she adopted him & we formed a major bond. I was his mom. Then when it was time to move into my own house we considered him going with me, but that would mean him leaving the country with 3.6 acres to roam & leaving the other ppl he loved. Instead we worked out a custody arrangement & he’s here about 2wks every month. When my sister needed to have open heart surgery to fix a congenital heart defect, he stayed with me bc she didn’t need a big derpy poodle being needy during recovery. Right now her fam is moving & staying in a rental downtown without a fenced yard so he’s been staying with me while they look for a house to buy. He’s literally laying right next to me. Having him has really helped me bc I had to let go of the senior I adopted in 2020 & he helps fill the emptiness that Toby left with his passing. I’m not ready to adopt again yet, I need time to grieve, but Jake helps me with his presence. Doesn’t feel as lonely or sad with him here.

My best friend is soul mates with the dog of one of her other close friends. She just embraced it like Goose's owner did. It means she always knows her baby is gonna be taken care of if she goes away for a few days, or if there's some other reason she can't take care of her, and it's more enriching for the dog because she gets to go on adventures and then go home to her Mumma.
@Vero2yu2 ай бұрын
First you say owner, but then you add retardation like ''mumma'' and you seem to not refer to a female animal which is the ONLY mum (mom, mother, mommy) possibility. So get some therapy. It is called goes on adventures and then go home to the pet owner, that is if you refer to a person and not the one who was pregnant with that animal as well as gave birth to it, soo bye.

I looked after a dog for a few weeks and I don't know how true it was but his owner said he moped and cried and whined for weeks after so he asked me if I wanted to have him full time. I understand this. We also had a 'timeshare dog'. It was my family's dog originally, but since my mom, my sister, and I were all busy during the day with school and work, and we didn't want to leave her alone often, our grandparents (who lived a couple streets away) would come pick her up nearly every weekday. Then my mom would pick her up on her way home from work. So we would have her in the evenings and weekends, while my grandparents would have her during the weekday. It worked out awesome for years, and she would absolutely love it when she heard the phrase, "we're going to the grandparents!" RIP JC.

I totally understand this! I had a little ranch, a lab, all the farmers near me had dogs, but my house seemed to be the only one that they all would come up to, to get their social play time in! I was in heaven. When I would find out who's dog it was, and where it lived, I would take it home after a good time was had by all. I didn't like the idea of the dogs walking home, and risk getting hit. That happened all too often on those roads. My dog did not leave. One day , a nearby farmer had brought over his 6 mo old lab/Shepard mix. He fell in love with my girl, and from then on, he just kept coming back on his own usually. Periodically he'd go back to his Dad's for a while. Then he started sleeping in my yard and watching my bedroom window. My heart sank when it started getting cooler in the fall. His Dad told me that since he isn't a small puppy anymore, his new wife doesn't want any pets in the house. He wasn't happy about it either. He tried to tie him up at night with a dog house. He is parked and barked all night every night. Nobody for miles DIDN'T hear him! It probably echoed through the hills and valleys. Soon enough he was back watching my window. When the snow started I thought surely he'd go home! Nope. After an hour I couldn't take it! I called him inside, he slept in my bed, and did so every night for his entire life. Actually years later when I moved away from the area, I was very concerned about what would become of him, so I asked his Dad if he could come with us. The next day he said he talked it over with his wife and kids, and they had no problem with it, because they wanted a new puppy anyway. I was elated about Buster coming with me, but I thought, wow, how easy it was for them! My win, their loss. I feel sorry for the dog that came after, cuz I could see the writing on the wall. I knew he wanted a farm dog to work alongside him, and he would have preferred the dog to sleep inside too, but that wasn't going to happen. I bet he regretted being married to her each and every day. (Truth is... Well, I best let sleeping dogs lie, and not go there! 😂😂😂)

This really helped me. I co-raised an orphaned kitten for the last 3 years, and now the family is moving away. No more visits multiple times every day, no more purring snuggles every morning. It's been a perfect situation because my place is to small and my life is too crazy to have a pet full-time. I'm devastated, but I know he'll be so happy in his new home. Your video gave me hope that I can keep loving him, then let him go when the time comes.

I had a dog walker acquaintance who used to walk Gok Wan's Frenchie. After she had to move he apparently banned her from seeing his dog which devastated her since they were so close and maybe the dog too, celebrities lead such a busy life that the dog can start believing that the dog sitter is their owner with the amount of time they spend together (this is all allegedly since I don't want his lawyers coming after me). Props to Goose's owner to understand the needs of the dog too.
