Thanks Andrew for your videos they've been extremely helpful!! This is exactly how my adoptive childhood went and how things have been going at work at age 38. These toxic people are all around us, definitely wolves in sheep's clothing. I now can understand the road map of life and I now i have the correct definitions or perspectives of what I see in and on my map (like a map key) and now I can better navigate around these toxic areas on the map. I've gone total no contact with all the toxic people in my life and also with their present like minions they've all been blocked as well. I took back the paint brush and have started painting my own masterpiece with the people that I love and trust and who genuinely care about me In the same way. Thanks again you really helped me understand how to use grey rock and no contact, God bless you and your family, keep being a voice for the hurting and the healing. FORWARD ONLY!!!!

I have gone most of my life without any knowledge of what being an Empath even was or meant until about 2 years ago when a girl came upto me and said, "You don't know what you are do you?" And no I did not and I'm trying to find out more so that I can find out if this is true with me. Ty for your comments, they are helpful when trying to understand.

Life is too short don't waste another second on this absolute rubbish.

@Random V Chick May I suggest that forgiving is not accepting. I think it's about letting go, for your own sake. Relieving yourself of that huge emotional load. Freeing yourself of that burden. Lift your soul. You can't lift others who don't want to be lifted. Letting them go, emotionally and physically, is about freeing yourself. I think we all deserve that freedom. Just a thought. Hope it helps.

I had a situation, where I really, really wanted to blow up and beat the blah blah out of a guy who actually had been just using me for my $. It started fair and with the appearance of friendship. I was in between housing and on the street. Unfortunately, I had shattered my ankle and needed a place to heal up. I paid his rent and bought groceries for the both of us. And, paid his bank NSF fees for mistakes he had made before my arrival. (We had been "friends" for a while from a different apt bldg.). Anyway even after I was able to get back on the street, he was still asking for money. Eventually, instead of making myself a criminal, I just cut him completely out of my life. I wish I would have known then what I know now.

The problem today has to do with the meaning of repentance. Make no mistake about it- repentance is taught in the Bible. John the Baptist preached repentance. Jesus preached repentance. Peter preached repentance. Paul preached repentance. Unfortunately, the simple fact is, over the history of the church the word has changed meaning. Those of us who believe in salvation by grace alone through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone, have often been falsely accused of not believing in repentance. We do believe in it. But we believe in Biblical repentance.” 🎺

I'm 68, in therapy again dealing with creating stronger boundaries. Since I was a child I was told that I am too sensitive, and emotional lunatic, I needed a thicker skin and tried so hard to be the person they all wanted me to be. All it did was make me fearful and anxious of myself. I believed there was something wrong with me. Today I love who I am. Just wish I could find someone that appreciates what I offer as a person.

I felt your pain ( mimosamk 19-54 ) I am 74 ,born in 19-48 , It is my 51 st wedding anniversary , 10th June . I have endured a half century of being married to this man . I gave up everything I was ,and all my possession’s to come to America , and be with what I thought was a wonderful man .. We meet in London in 19-69 .. Married a few years latter. No matter how much I did for him … it was never enough. He is 81yrs old now, and I just found out he has been in a relationship with a woman for 17 Yrs, I found letters , then looked at his phone for the first time ever . The disgusting texts made me sick to my stomach , beyond revolting . He has had lots of affairs , and one time in counters in the past, Where I have just had to except that he’s not right in his head , as I am to weak and worn down to get away from him . He has recently been diagnosed with third stage cancer, gets his first kemo treatment in 2 days time. Our two daughters are rallying around to take care of him .I just can’t , I am so so broken, shattered, spent . I keep thinking ,This is ( KARMA ) … on steroids . I was touched by your story , it made me cry , for myself , you and every person suffering like we are . My name is Fiona , God Bless you my dear lady . I was just like you as a child , I felt like a servant to my family, trying to please everyone . I don’t know how my story will end . I just long for Peace ,and calm .

Great video. I'm an empath, grew up in a highly dysfunctional home dominated by narcissists. I worked for narcissists. I was/am married to a narcissist. I was taught NOT to have boundaries - if I did, I'd suffer the consequences, both physically and mentally. I was a driven Type A personality; I lived to be the best at my job, to work harder, longer, faster. To please my bosses. Intuitively I knew when those around me were failing, so I'd jump in to lend a hand. People would tell me I was doing too much, that others were taking advantage of me, that I needed to "just say no". As an empath, I simply couldn't. Until I had a nervous breakdown.

Exactly. Ever catch any episodes of Little House on the Prairie? Michael Landon played Charles Ingalls. Even though he was a fictionalized version of this man, I like the way he handled his business, because he was absolutely an empath, but he had boundaries and would even fight hand-to-hand if the situation called for it. That's how it is when we free ourselves and narcissists can't guilt us into inaction any longer.

Not everyone that treats people badly is a Narcissist on that basis. That word gets thrown around all to often, and frequently used to describe anybody that was in a previous commitment or some sort of relationship, but that doesn't mean the inability to sort things out, means the other person is a Narcissist. The other person could well be thinking the person they were involved with, was the Narcissist. I'm not being mean either. Just keeping it real.

There were times when I imagined 'cutting' my 'heart' out and throwing it in the trash. There is a price for doing kindness, it is the price that no one else is willing to pay. Ignoring your heart is a very bad idea, I recommend more of a deprivation, a place of solitude where you cannot witness any suffering. There is a rule that I have been following called "Rule .303", IF you have the means at hand, you also have the responsibility to act. If you see something wrong that you know you can easily fix, fix it. If you know you do not have the means, find help. If you cannot find help, realize it is what it is and throwing yourself on the pyre will not change it.

I agree. At work, I am isolated from the other employees because I actually CARE about our patients. Coworkers become jealous or believe I think I'm better than they are, or I make them feel bad for their lack of truly wanting to help others. The retaliate in some way eventually. Thats when I quit, find a new job, and it repeats. 22 years in a profession where 98 % of those in the field pretend to care so they can maximize their profits. I DO care and pay for it dearly every time! I dont even bother with relationships anymore. Since i attract the wrong people, meeting "the one" is better left in my dreams. At the core of my existence, I cannot change. Life sometimes seems like a waste but i just keep going and will until I dont.

@Joanna Bentley I believe the highest level of spirit is where it is unmanifested as form or as positive and negative, it just is. Most people are unaware of this and only see duality, especially as most religions remain in the realm of duality - good and evil. Since most people cannot rise above duality because of what they are taught, they cannot understand why God "lets them down" and allows evil and suffering in the world. They get mad at God and live in the negative spiritual stream where things a reversed. Life loses its value, people become commodities and materialism takes over. Ego is a protective shell we have in these lower realms to guard us against spiritual abrasion and, like anything, it can get out of control. Someone who feels they've been betrayed by God will start amplifying their own importance to compensate for the rage they feel, narcissism is an aspect of this, so in that sense I believe it's evil since is born of the negative path. Negative spiritual energy is what we see as evil, it's necessary for creation because creation is duality. If people were taught that good and bad are not the ultimate states and that one can go higher, they could get some perspective in these lower worlds and begin to let go of their resentment towards God and climb the ladder. My beliefs anyhow.

@Joanna Bentley That spiritual component....... The way I see it... we all have 'our demons'. The narcissist has given in to his or hers. (I cut myself off from my whole family a few months back. I've never ever sensed an ounce of empathy coming from any of them EVER.) I only realised that I'm an empath recently... about a year ago and when that happened, my life made a whole lot more sense.... as to why I never felt like I fit in. Listening to this vid and what Narcdaily said about how rare empaths are, well, that makes sense too.... because now that I'm switched on to how people behave... I'm looking for that spark of empathy, when I meet someone and in the past year, I've only come across two people.

That blocks a lot of opportunities tho as well , I haven’t watched this video yet but I definitely feel that I really need to.

I love your first sentence! So sweet! I didn't know what an empath was til I had morning sickness before our daughter told us she was pregnant. I felt every single emotion she was having, eventually discovering how very angry she was at me for invading her privacy. Eventually she walked away from me, refuses contact. I was so unaware what an empath could feel and how strongly. Had I been aware she was trying to conceive, i would never have spoken those words to her about the morning sickness. I may have put 2+2 together after that call. She did tell us a few weeks later. You can't tell someone about their private life without them feeling as if you invaded their space. Learning who you are while unaware a narcissist is beating you down, his problems have spread like a cancer through our entire family. So sad, my dream as a 6 year old was to grow up and be a mommy who loved her kids. I was crying for help way back then! No one cared. 2nd fiddle after the star dancer and the prodigal son were born. I was just another notch on the family tree. I wasn't raised by my grandparents, but spent several weeks with them in the summer months working on Gramps's hobby farm. Raised differently by our parents, my 2 older siblings, then me and a younger brother, raised by same parents yet separately from the older pair. Def the tail end of my parents parenting pleasure, they had had enough. And I felt it.... Or lack of IT. Never any one on one time with either parent, it just didn't happen.

I just realized that I spent 63 years being baffled by how thoughtless some people could be when all I was doing was give from the heart. My own children and my father would even get on me for be way too nice and I was always getting taken advantage of. I even coworkers STEAL from me! I suppose they thought I would’ve helped them out if they had asked. Anyway, when I finally read up on Empaths it was like a huge “AHA”!!! moment for me! I was actually thrilled that I had an answer, a name that explained my life. The reason why I got along with most everyone so easily but there was always someone in the bunch that absolutely hated me! I mean from the moment they looked at me ! No reason at all! They would make my life a living hell! But now I knew why and it all made since. In the last few years I’ve had breast cancer 2 times and for some freak reason my spine has failed me and I am now disabled, but I couldn’t be happier. I have seen the silver lining by removing all of the toxic people and focusing on my artwork. I am finally writing and illustrating my first Children’s book. Thanks for your video. It really hit home. Sherry Wade-Wald❤

Thank-you for your comments about how abusive narcissistic people can be and unfortunately evolve into. Your sentence of how they will even use their own children ad chess pieces really hit me hard and deep. I just ended a 2 1/2 year dating relationship with what appeared to be a great guy. Over time, things just did not keep adding up, especially his so called relationships with his grown adult kids, who unfortunately don't really want anything to do with their dad. And it's been that way for most of their lives. (Their mom had passed away when the kids were in elementary & middle school. And apparently the step mom gave them a rough time of it as well. So thank-you for speaking up on the behave of other victims as well. I wish you the best in your continued healing. Have a blessed day. M

I’ll never forget that experience and will forever be aware of narcissist traits. To anyone who has not initiated no contact yet, please believe me - it is worth it to love yourself and go no contact. Choose YOU; not the narcissist. You deserve to be happy and loved by good people in the world. No contact is the only route to take that works bc it immediately removed the narcs ability to slither back into your heart the exact same ways they’ve been doing it since day one. My sister in law is like this. It's been 12 years and I just cannot connect with her. At times we have managed but she is often blunt and rude. There is a flip from one interaction to the next, always having something negative to say. Always picking on things I do. I am a massive believer in kindness, people don't need to hear their flaws unless it's someone who respects you is telling you a way to improve. It's got to the point I get anxiety when I visit my parents as they chose to live opposite. My brother and I have a strained relationship because he feels I'm unstable and sensitive. I have tried to explain that I struggle with people who have nothing better to do than judge what I am doing in my life negatively. I would agree I am sensitive but more to bs and unkind people. I do back off and he sees this as me lacking social skills. Apparently we should all accept it was how she was raised.

This is a powerful message Andrew. Thank you for sharing. I was lucky that even before I heard about the word narcissism, I was not giving in when my narc ex, a fireman was trying to belittle me privately or especially in front of his fellow firefighters. I could sense his defeat and weakness. However I didn’t know until later that my resistance motivated him to keep me around longer and won me over just to weaken me and eventually discarded me. He still hoovered me back after learning that I exposed him. A sick human being. Maybe just because of my toughness that he “admired”, by his own statement, gave me the power of negotiation that I was able to collect my stuff from him at the end. He knows that I am fearless and am not shy exposing him again if he doesn’t behave. In his mind, he is a hero being a fireman

I have a hundreds of stories to tell hoping that they will help someone on this channel. I was invited to sing at a church and they really liked me and invited me back. My ex was not happy because I was using my gift and I was so happy. The second time I went to sing, while singing I looked out in the audience and saw him glaring at me. He looked like he hated me, he wanted to bring me down in the middle of my song. After church he pouted and wouldn't talk to people. He completely ruined my day. When we left I asked him what was wrong, and he said nothing. We went out to eat and he would not talk to people.. He embarrassed me and made me feel so uncomfortable. He made the whole day miserable. He tried his best to ruin the connection at the church. He never wanted me to be happy. I know people looked at me and thought, what in the world is she doing with him? I lived this way for 18 long years praying he would change. He never did. He only got worse. I am a bright light everywhere I go, and another one of my gifts is encouragement. July 20th 2022 will be four years since I left. The best decision of my life. I am so glad I'm free!

Yes Donna! When that beast is awakened there is hell to pay! It is really sad that people who really care are so taken advantage of by these slobs. They don't realize that empaths are actually very strong.

I always say, the Lord will always make something beautiful out of an ugly situation. I wondered why the Lord allowed the narcissist in my life, and I realized if He hadn't I would not have had this awakening, this new profound love for myself. Now I believe wholeheartedly I have a right to have boundaries, a right to be happy and I protect and treat myself like I do for my circle of people. I also have learned what true evil can look like, and have become more intune with my intuition!! Thank you for this wonderful video!!

Stacee Lee you took the words out of my mouth. I experienced the same feeling. When I “woke up” from the spell it was like a new world. I realized wait a minute I love, respect and value, myself. He gotta go. I’m forever thankful to God for the hard lesson and learning about narcissism. I will never look back. Cheers to you, and cheers to keep it moving. 💪🏼👍🏼😃

Yes 30 years of my life..only realised know his a narcissistic husband . I did not know until the past 3 months. Needed to removed myself from his toxic energy ..but still living with him only I've decided to moved into the guest bedroom away from him. The sad part is we have children together. Going through separation know. Enough. Thank you so much for your encouragement.❤ God bless. Sending you Love and Light.

Just an advice for those who have just ended the relationship with the narcissist : 1 - There's ups and downs, at times you will be 'craving' and miss this piece of trash ! time helps, no contact is crucial, and please, please hold onto it. 2 - But now you are awake, and like beautifully said in the video, being an empath is a super power. We are able to feel a lot of beautiful emotions, being kind and caring : karma is already doing its job with your ex : he / she is an empty shell, unable to feel love, and supplies or not, he/she is and will stay and feel alone in his/her misery. 3 - Therapy might be necessary, friends and relatives cannot understand truly what you've been through. Talking to a stranger and a professional is best. Take care and do not give up !

Thanks for this. Walked out of a toxic relationship after 10 years, my narcissistic lover pushed too far, at last I saw the light. Got an email from her by way of a rebuke saying I was like a ghost to her. There has been no contact either way for 8 months. I wish her well and hope she gets help. Even though I miss her I won’t be stepping into that cage again. I have regained my individuality, others have noticed this, especially my very grown up kids. The euphoria of freedom will last a very long time.

I wanted to followed up with my Previous message. I recently ran into some family members (my uncle and aunt). I called them out because I did some work for them last year (I have always done things for them) but this time I clearly felt that they were abusing/taking advantage a little too much, I made a Statement and clearly they weren’t very Pleased with me. Ran into them at a Family gathering and my Aunt told my Aunt (Individual who Invited me to the gathering) what I was doing there. That if I were to say anything to them they would walk out and leave. Incredible. Is it me or is that a sign of Conscience and Denial? I didn’t even say Hi to them , just walked right by them as if they weren’t there….

Hey thank you my friend. I’m at the point where I can’t live like this anymore. She’s not going to change and I don’t like how she is changing me. I needed to hear what you said. I’m not going to continue to allow myself to be abused any longer.

Been struggling with this since my teens. I am a strong empath and have gotten physically ill due to absorbing all the negative energies from a narcissist. I've been educating myself. Great info here. And yes, true empaths are rare.

Lorraine, negativity causes & is stress. Stress weakens your immune system & invites harmful pathogens to seize control of your body & make you sick or even kill you. It you are around someone who makes you uncomfortable, get away from them. That discomfort you feel is stress sending you an “ it’s time to get away from that person” physical message!
