Once they realize they no longer have control over you, they lose interest. They don't like you, never did. They don't want you as a friend, you probably have little in common with them. The minute you exert control or resist theirs, they typically begin the discard process and if you don't acquiesce, things will likely just end. They may poke or prod occasionally but as long as you hold your line, you will no longer be a target for them.

I want to tell my ex off every time he tries to pop back into my life... and I did a few times, before I learned my lesson. You are 100% right though, if you respond, then you are letting them know that they can still get to you and that on some level you still want their attention. My ex still calls from his google home device and I can't block it because it's not an actual phone number. I want to scream at him to leave me the hell alone, but I just let it ring because I am not willing to give him even one more second of my time.

I have to do the same. I am in my 50s and I am 4 days free from the most toxic unkind and delusional woman I never imagined could exist. She knows I unmasked her... I think of exposing her but I value my life more. I think she will leave me alone now.

@yougotgroove I found myself in a situation about a year ago where my ex was going to be taking over my job title as I left to go to another job. My current partner was still at that original job and I got really upset and it felt insane that they would let him come back(he had worked there years before I did and was very destructive to the property when angry and frightened several employees)and tried to let people know what to expect from this man because he is violent and very verbally abusive...it just made me look unstable because these people are such good actors when they want or need to be, and people took it completely opposite of how I meant it. I was 40 and felt like a complete child. Save yourself even more heartache and give whatever energy you have to letting yourself heal and move on💓best of luck along the way

A sincere apology would be the cure, but it will never be sincere enough. The damage is done, we rebuild it and protect it more fiercely and that’s all we can do.

Left ex narcissist in 2016 and went no contact and stuck to it. She had new supply immediately or probably waiting on the sidelines for me to leave. 3 months later the hoovering started phonecalls, social media DMs, Emails, old photos of things that were important in our relationship. Driving past my house, flying monkeys etc. I ignored every hoover attempt, bet it drove her nuts. For the first two years I got hoovered monthly. Then she met other men and had new relationships. Now you would think that would be the end of hearing from them. Haha not a chance, anytime she has problems in her current relationship, she hoovers me and probably other ex partners. You think you're falling in love with your soul mate until the realisation sets in one day: They have no soul. 7 years has went by, I've never loved anybody else since, I went MGTOW. I'm not the same man I was before the abuse. Modern women are impossible.

@@joeoreo2498good luck, stay away from her of she's a narcissist. After I left mine in 2016 I went no contact. A few months later the hoovering started. Text messages, emails, driving past my house etc. I never spoke to her again. It absolutely broke my heart and I'm not the same person I was before the abuse. I will never love another woman ever again cause they treat men like trash. Took me years to get over it and it sets you back when they start contacting you (which she will). Never reply to her cause it's all lies and a continuation of the abuse cycle. Hardest part to take in is it was all a lie and the person you loved was not real. Stay strong, bro. 🍀

I'm so grateful that I moved far away, and she has plentiful supply in her location. Also, she knows I know, and there's nothing she could get from me other than embarrassment. I really feel for everyone who isn't fortunate enough to get away, or especially if you share custody / or lost a non biological child you raised due to the Narc. No matter how many videos i watch or articles I read, i still, after almost three years...15 abuse cycles, countless rage fits/ silent treatments, can not wrap my head around this behaviour. What a mess they are... these narcissistic people. Once my girlfriend decided that moment she wanted to end it. I still have no idea what i did. Things were fine all day. I got to her apartment and it was over. I was devastated. Didn't call me or write for over a month. Ever day i was crying. Totally broken. Out of the blue wanted me back. And like a clown i took her back only for three weeks and an engagement ring later for her to turn around and rage on me again. Before she could end it, i blocked her number. Its been 2 months now. Unbelievable. No contact. No idea what or if anything happens again. Im trying to move on😢

Dang it, Anoushka, I needed this video 2 weeks ago. LOL! I've spent the last 10.5 months in No Contact, and I didn't really think she'd make some sort of effort to contact me. I woke up on my birthday, and there in my notifications was a quick and easy birthday message. I wasn't sure how to react/respond, so I went through my birthday ignoring the message. I gave it a couple of days, and the best I could muster was a simple ' thank you'. I was strong, but not rude. If anything, I probably just confused her as the last time we talked ( about a year ago)... I was an emotional wreck and fell into every trap and pitfall your videos have taught me about. I chose to consciously go the other direction this time. And while it didn't feel good in the moment, reflecting on the whole situation has brought me solace simply because I kept my self-respect intact. That being said, I guess your videos have worked for me ( even if I messed up doing everything perfectly). Thank you!

I know this is very vague as all the details would take entirely too long to write, but I'd like to give a few examples, and see if you guys think I've been dealing with a narcissist. I know lots more criteria would need to be shown, but I digress. *She never holds herself accountable, and projects blame onto me. *She plays the victim *She gaslights *She's passive aggressive *Her dog bit me in my face, and she blamed me because she claimed I didn't show him enough attention *I had a bike accident due to the rain, and she blamed me for not checking the forecast ahead of time *When I'd be occupied making fondue or painting, she would berate me by saying "are you going to talk to me?"

I believe she is definitely a full blown narc. The dog incident and your accident- the key. My ex and my ex Mother in law acted like that. Her dog attacked my child and she went and comforted the dog. That was when I realized what a toxic family I was wedded to. Does she want to ruin your birthday? - it will get worst. I am waiting for this time to come, just want to be prepared for when the Hoover might happen. It dawned on me that she kept up the charade for 29 years because of her drive to take more, but also to win. She wants to prove her worth by conquering me. It’s gross, but that’s what I realize was happening for so long. I never let her take that much control, so the challenge for her continued like an obsession. I finally had enough, and that’s when everything was revealed to me. The cheating I wasn’t aware of, or the fact she is not capable of loving me. So now, I get to deal with the heartache of knowing everything, while just sitting here until I can save enough money to live my best life. I always wondered how I would react if she tries to contact me again after 7 months no contact. I’ll try not to do anything rash.

I find if you don't respond they may continue to contact you. I think it may be easier to let them know not to contact you because if they continue then you can get them for harassment.. I find this ex friend to ve extremely obsess and disturbed. Going no contact is for my mental health..
