Unless Tony gets a perfect temple or villa, he is never happy. His time on Time Team and Odyssey prove that. While he is frustrated with the field archeologists who explain things to him, he finally admits, "though I don't know a lot about archeology, I still think we should be able to find more buildings.". Phil and Francis are so patient. I am always excited and amazed with the great finds that are discovered which allow all of us to understand history so much better.

General fighting again with old timey weapons, and the survivors declare "Good archeology!"

Ironic that slaughtering dozens of people for entertainment would become celebrated in the Roman world, but Druidic human sacrifice was a horror. I wonder if capital punishment (of murderers and such) were ritualized into religious ceremony more often than choosing "innocents". One important critique for readers to note, while the 3rd CE coin can be used to establish a terminus post quem it does not necessarily mean the floor predates the it. For example, imagine the floor was built in the 4th c. CE but the older coin was still in circulation when it was dropped. I’m that case the floor is younger than the coin. That’s why we say that the floor is at least as old as the coin rather than as old or older.
