I started at about 9 weeks. I took her to the park despite what the vet said and walked to the middle of the dog park and put her down right there. She had all the other dogs around her and was submissive but people need to understand dogs will give the little ones privileges. What I call puppy privileges. The next time there she was stand offish and after that day I walked her to the middle again and she followed. There was no keeping her at home after dinner after that. She wanted to go to the park. I then started taking her every where with me on a leash and she was the most docile GSD. Everyone loved her and wanted to pet her and she loved every minute and all the attention too.

If I may ask a question, how do you communicate to your German Shepherd that things are ok and you got the situation under control when meeting other dogs? I have a 4yo German Shepherd who is a wonderful boy, and being a typical GSD he's very confident. He likes to growl at other dogs (he never hurts them) and I'd like to tell him 'It's OK, you don't need to growl, I'm safe and in control' Massive fan of your videos, you're very informative and passionate which is a joy to see. I've unfortunately been on the receiving end of 'my way or you're wrong' To see you willing to help but also learn is phenomenal

My GSD girl came to my house at around 14 weeks, and in my country at the time we had mandatory confinement where walking dogs and exercising was asked and controlled to be cut as short as possible. Impossible to use dog parks and to have those topical 'puppy play dates "so I had a terrible time trying to socialize her. I was only able to start walking her outside when she was about 4 and a half months and she is now extremely afraid of cars - she will lunge and pull when a car goes by- she barks at other dogs and will pull, and although she likes new people - my front yard is gated and she can prop her paws on the fence and people pet her and she takes her ball for strangers to throw - but when she is outside she will bark but won't pull unless people go by very close to me. Do you have and tips for how to help her or is this purely a case of consistency in her training (that I am the one giving it to her)?
