I’ve been rocking this chip for about 2 years now and I’m handing it down to my brother. It’s a great chip that, paired with a good GPU, will eat 4K gaming at 60Hz for breakfast at untra settings on a good chunk of games. If frames aren’t everything, you can expand that pool of good looking games farther. I played Tarkov on it, Helldivers, and 6 Days in Fallujah. Past some optimization issues with the games, it ran phenomenal.

Around July I sold my 5800X 32g of ram and a nice B550 for 250$ to a friend that was building his first PC. Got a 7900X3D and new B650.Only paid about 500$ and some change. I just love playing with computers! Helping a buddy getting into the hobby on the cheap is pretty cool as well!! ; )

Matter of fact i did upgrade to a 7600X from a 3800X, i was sick and tired of my old system, i felt like i wanted a fresh start. And because AM5 is the new socket, i'll be able to eventually upgrade to one of the X3Ds when they are on sale, it's about future-proofing

Well, went to reassemble the old one, (i initially was using bits and pieces in a new case before the full upgrade) the Mobo decided that the ram slots aren't gonna work. So new Motherboard and case, and that PC went to my mom

I have a 4070ti and a ryzen 9 5900x. But my motherboard is a X570 ROG Crosshair VIII Hero, which is not a cheap am4 motherboard. So for me with my 5900x, it does every perfectly. There’s no need to upgrade because if I am going to upgrade I’m going with a 9800x3d but I’m not going to go from a high end motherboard to a mid range motherboard to do so. So an upgrade to am5 for me would be well over a thousand dollars once ram and possibly a new aio has to be installed. At that point I might as well sell my PC and build a whole new PC. But my PC’s performance doesn’t warrant doing so, it plays every game easily at 1440p. So after going back and forth I decided to just be happy with what I have and stop spending money on it for now…. It leaves more money to spend on my car😅

I upgarded from a 5800x to a 9700x so full upgrade. The reason was because my old pc had a gtx1070 (very unbalanced I know, dont ask) and a 550W psu. I figured that if I was going to upgrade my gpu, I should do a big upgrade. Say like a 7800xt or 7900gre that I ultimately chose in the end. Well in that case my psu would be way too low wattage, so I would need to get a new one. On top of that I figured that with that upgrade I should also get more ram from 16gb to 32 and of course up my monitor game to 1440p. Now Im at around 1000€ in upgrades and still on a am4 platform. I get that i wouldve gotten like 200-250€ for my old parts but they would have probably been a tough sell AND my little brother was looking for a PC so I just sold my pc and monitor to him for 600€ and got a whole new setup. I also had the computer for 7.5years so I just wanted something new and fresh.

I'm on my 5600 and RTX 3060 12gb. I only play casual game and currently been going hard on 2k25. The problem with the 5600 is that it goin 100% usage on vsync off. But it still getting 90-100 fps and very little micro stutter. Let's see if the cpu hold up for upcoming games like Spiderman 2 and The Last of Us Part II

Even with a 4090, you'll be playing at 1440p or 4k, so the CPU will not matter basically at all
