6 years later and I’m here with the answer! He said in a recent commentary that he’s typically very good at screaming and that you can pinpoint the moment when he hurts himself. I’m not sure how hurt he was but we know that, for this scene, anything less than full force would be a tragedy. I don’t think it did permanent damage but it might’ve been close.
