Veryrandombutterfly I think this is more about pragmatic, economic thinking. When done right, CGI can be just as breathtaking as 2D. But the REAL kicker is cost; 3D is actually cheaper than 2D. Personally, I LOVE 2D hand-drawn animation, but I can understand the shift. Though I think it's a good idea to do a couple of 2D films once in a while (i.e. Princess and the Frog).

When this movie was released, I was likely 9 years old. I enjoyed singing along with some of the songs, but never got teary eyed. Now I am 28 years old, I can't help my tears from flowing. It's like a mixture of nostalgia and melancholy, reminding me of the wonder years of my childhood and the bitterness of reality that those days are long gone. I sometimes feel sad knowing that I enjoyed a wonderful childhood, but there were others, who didn't have a chance because of human selfishness and cruelty. It would have been kind if all humanity, no matter how insane, will just spare children from the cruelty.

Ryan O CGI movies gotten kind of dull of late, but their not prefect either, example, Tangled, meant to celebrate a major mile stone with Disney's own movies (not Pixar) but most of that film is kind of dull, very little of it, really stands out compared to older movies such as the Lion King or Aladdin which had a great cast of characters and some excellent songs! Frozen at the moment is the king or queen which ever you prefer, of Disney own movies! I think a studio should make a bold move and try once more with more traditional animation films, that includes having some songs that really stay with you!

For those who are asking what the Hebrew is in this song: It is actually excerpts from the Song at the Sea after the LORD drowned the Egyptian Cavalry chasing the Israelites through the Sea, a song that both Moses and Miriam sang. Exodus 15:1, 11, 13, 21 א {ס} אָשִׁירָה לַיהוָה כִּי-גָאֹה גָּאָה, 1 I will sing unto the LORD, for He is highly exalted; (Ashirah laAdonai Ki Ga'oh Ga'ah) יא מִי-כָמֹכָה בָּאֵלִם יְהוָה, {ס} מִי {ר} כָּמֹכָה נֶאְדָּר בַּקֹּדֶשׁ; 11 Who is like unto Thee, O LORD, among the mighty? who is like unto Thee, glorious in holiness? (Mi khamokha ba'eilim Adonai, Mi kamokha ne'edar baQodesh) 13. יג נָחִיתָ {ר} בְחַסְדְּךָ, עַם-זוּ גָּאָלְתָּ 13 Thou in Thy love hast led the people that Thou hast redeemed; (Nachitha b'chas'decha Am zu Ga'alta) and Miriam sings 20 And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances. כא וַתַּעַן לָהֶם, מִרְיָם: שִׁירוּ לַיהוָה כִּי-גָאֹה גָּאָה, סוּס וְרֹכְבוֹ רָמָה בַיָּם. {ס} 21 And Miriam sang unto them: Sing ye to the LORD, for He is highly exalted: the horse and his rider hath He thrown into the sea.

I sooo want to se a movie sequense like that !!!💖 In the version i just created in my mind, the song would stop for a while close to the end while Mary Magdalene suddenly sees someone behind her. She slowly turns, asks ”Where did you take my Lord”, and Jesus says ”Mary!” And Mary Magdalene says ”Master!” You know, John 21 in the Bible . After that, the song would start again, in a higher, more joyful key. I can sooo see it in my mind! I can se Mary Magdalene crying, shown in close up, then a shadow falls over her, and it is the Lord💖 I have too much imagination 🤣🤣🤣🤣

When I tried to listen to this song on Spotify, I ended up listening to the Mariah Carey/Whitney Houston version for the first time and I didn't like it. It didn't have that moving feeling to it and it seemed a lot more like fake singing without passion in the song. More of a fake passion song, Mariah and Whitney both over did it with their vibrato. This is still a great movie, I still have it on VHS, my grown children watched it and now my grand's are. A huge lesson on believing, obedience and choices. When we have faith in Christ He can and will do the impossible. Through our obedience God will move on our behalf. And the choice to resist God or follow God, either choice will produce an outcome. Good or bad, as Pharaoh had learned. "My opinion of course"
@pameladrummond283711 жыл бұрын
It has everything to do with believing in God, who helped lead the Israelites from the of bondage of slavery. To be a Christian you have to first believe in Christ. Who is the son of God. So because "Christ" is not mentioned in this story, doesn't mean it has nothing to do with Him. Since Christ is part of God He is included. He just hasn't been born yet. That of course is the story of Christmas or why Christmas is celebrated. Luke 1:26 starts this story with the angel Gabriel sent from God to the virgin Mary. ***** be blessed and happy reading.
@pameladrummond283711 жыл бұрын
What is interesting is some of what you say is true. Some Jewish people has not accepted Jesus as the Christ sent by God. But Jesus is not just for the Jews. The book of Acts is the beginning of the spreading of Christianity to the Gentile nation. Some very interesting and brutal things went on in order for Everyone that believed in Jesus could be saved. The one who was the worst persecutor of the church, Saul of Tarsus, later known as Paul, became a convert. When Jesus came to him personally in chapter 9 asking why he was persecuting Him. Oh you really should read it! In chapter 10 was a Roman captain named Cornelius who was a God fearing man of the One true and living God, the Lord sent an angel to him to send for Simon Peter who would end up coming to Cornelius house and everyone in his home would receive God's spirit and they were not Jewish people. Chapter 11:18 "When they [certain Jewish Christians] heard this, they were quieted and made no further objection. And they glorified God, saying, Then God has also granted to the Gentiles repentance unto[real] life [after resurrection]. (Amplified version) ***** Christ is for anyone who accepts Him as their Lord and Savior, and I'm so glad and grateful that I have the opportunity.

***** I too thought that Jesus being G-d and and son and the Messiah was far-fetched. And since G-d gave the Torah to Moses on Mount Sinai and then sent other prophets, I think the Jews know what they're talking. It's their scriptures. Any Christian who says the Jews misinterpreted the Tanakh make me sad. It's laughable really. The Tanakh belongs to the Jews. Some people just added some pagan idolatry and deified this man Jesus.

***** We believe that God exists in three figures: God, the father of all, Jesus, his son and the Holy Spirit. Jesus is a part of God thus, and yes, it is quite weird for us to hear He's His son. However, we say it because that's what God called Him in the Old Testament and He himself was referring to Himself as son of God, I never looked in depth into the whole matter, so it's probable there's a better answer to your question, but I'm saying what I know and what I believe in. As for why He came on Earth, well, 1. He was promised to the people 2. By suffering on the Cross, He opened the gates to Heaven and He made it possible for ALL to access to it. That is why His coming is in the New Testament. It marks a new beginning. 3. As to why He became a man to do all that, well, His birth was only a sign of His resurrection afterwards. I mean, His existence did not begin with His birth as a human. I know this is not very well known, but really, when we think of it, it's logical. The most important Holiday for the Christians is Easter, not Christmas, and that's because His birth was a sort of resurrection already, to mark a new turn for the religion, but by His sacrifice afterwards, He sealed his work. He could have clapped His hands, but what He did was far more powerful, and it required such sacrifice that the Devil couldn't break it, couldn't overpower what He did by dying on the Cross and resurrecting, all that for us. This is what I know/believe in. If you have any further questions, just ask. :)

To me, this version is the best! Michelle Pfeiffer and Sally Dworsky are spot on....so clear and beautiful, and their harmony was amazing as well.

Many nights we've prayed With no proof anyone could hear In our hearts a hopeful song We barely understood, Now we are not afraid Although we know there's much to fear We were moving mountains Long before we knew we could... There can be miracles When you believe Though hope is frail It's hard to kill Who knows what miracles You can achieve When you believe Somehow you will You will when you believe In this time of fear When prayer so often proved in vain Hope seemed like the summer birds Too swiftly flown away Yet now I'm standing here (now I'm standing here) With heart so full I can't explain Seeking faith and speaking words I never thought I'd say Miriam and Tzipporah (chorus) There can be miracles When you believe (when you believe) Though hope is frail Its hard to kill (Its hard to kill) Who knows what miracles You can achieve (You can achieve) When you believe Somehow you will You will when you believe A-shir-ra I'a-do-nai ki ga-oh ga-ah (I will sing to the Lord for He has triumphed gloriously) A-shir-ra I'a-do-nai ki ga-oh ga-ah (I will sing to the Lord for He has triumphed gloriously) Mi-cha-mo-cha ba-e-lim adonai (Who is like You, oh Lord, among the celestials) Mi-cha-mo-cha ne-dar-ba-ko-desh (Who is like You, majestic in holiness) Na-chi-tah v'-chas-d'-cha am zu ga-al-ta (In Your love, You lead the people You redeemed) Na-chi-tah v'-chas-d'-cha am zu ga-al-ta (In Your love, You lead the people You redeemed) A-shi-ra, a-shi-ra, A-shi-ra A-shir-ra I'a-do-nai ki ga-oh ga-ah (I will sing to the Lord for He has triumphed gloriously) A-shir-ra I'a-do-nai ki ga-oh ga-ah (I will sing to the Lord for He has triumphed gloriously) Mi-cha-mo-cha ba-e-lim adonai (Who is like You, oh Lord, among the celestials) Mi-cha-mo-cha ne-dar-ba-ko-desh (Who is like You, majestic in holiness) Na-chi-tah v'-chas-d'-cha am zu ga-al-ta (In Your love, You lead the people You redeemed) Na-chi-tah v'-chas-d'-cha am zu ga-al-ta (In Your love, You lead the people You redeemed) A-shi-ra, a-shi-ra, A-shi-ra There can be miracles When you believe Though hope is frail Its hard to kill (It's hard to kill) Who knows what miracles You can achieve (you can achieve) When you believe Somehow you will Now you will You will when you believe... You will when you believe

This song reminded me of my mom. This was her favourite. When she was still alive, she would always sing this. I miss you ma.

Many nights we prayed With no proof, anyone could hear In our hearts a hopeful song We barely understood Now, we are not afraid Although we know there's much to fear We were moving mountains Long before we knew we could, ooh-oh, yes There can be miracles When you believe Though hope is frail, it's hard to kill Who knows what miracles you can achieve? When you believe, somehow you will You will when you believe Oh-oh-oh Mmm, yeah In this time of fear When prayer so often proves in vain Hope seems like the summer bird Too swiftly flown away Yet now I'm standing here My hearts so full, I can't explain Seeking faith and speakin' words I never thought I'd say There can be miracles When you believe (When you believe) Though hope is frail, it's hard to kill (Mmm) Who knows what miracles you can achieve? (You can achieve) When you believe, somehow you will You will when you believe -------------------- They don't always happen when you ask And it's easy to give in to your fears But when you're blinded by your pain Can't see your way clear through the rain A small but still, resilient voice Says, "Help is very near", oh (Oh) ------------------ There can be miracles (Miracles) When you believe (Boy, when you believe, yeah) Though hope is frail It's hard to kill (Hard to kill, oh, yeah) Who knows what miracles You can achieve (You can achieve, oh) When you believe somehow you will (Somehow, somehow, somehow) Now, you will (I know, I know, know) You will when you (When you) Believe You will when you (You will when you) Believe Just believe (Believe) Just believe You will when you Believe

I wish this film was more appreciated because it really is a gem. I mean I know it's got loads of fans (over 7 million views) but this movie doesn't seem to have a lot of recognition like other animated films.

People rather support things that aren't true and not of God. But I agree with you this is a gem!

That is because there are about 11.2 million Jews in the world and only 0.0000001% of the gentiles in the world are pro-Israel and pay attention to what is right

I love how all the guards just throw down their weapons lookin all defeated like "soooo who's gonna finish all these statues and pyramids cus ummmm, that's not in my job description" lol
@ClassicDisneyFan9410 жыл бұрын
I think those guards recognized the power of God and decided to follow the Hebrews and leave Egypt. I'm not sure if the Bible says anything about that happening, but I'm sure some Egyptian guards did it.
@SuperCalebxy10 жыл бұрын
ClassicDisneyFan94 The Bible does mention that many Egyptians left with the Hebrews.
