When you find a check that expired years ago, can you get it cashed?

Ever find an uncashed check stuffed in a birthday card sent to you years ago from a relative? A Utah woman recently found a refund check worth hundreds of dollars from her old phone company. Problem is, it expired 16 years ago.

yes they still owe you the money after it expires. the check is just a means of obtaining the money, it is not tied to what is owed until it’s cashed.

They dont cash a check after 30 days so why even boid after 180 days

Sometimes. It does more harm than good though because once they notice it they will slow down all checks cashed by that person until they verify them through multiple means; just to be safer on their part.

Another is check any dormant accounts the government will take after a set time if no activity . Your assumed dead .

That was nice of them. ? Though. What if check no good after 30 days but you were in hospital or something. Hope they make exceptions for that.

THE PRINT WAS VERY VERY SMALL WITHOUT GLASSES FOR EVEN GOOD SEEING PEOPLE! They also said its to store it indefinetly! they told us at the bank! this was 4000 dollars! it was savings by also a mother with stress and comforted by the banks word , it is on them as well, So no they don't teach you this is school! She was DEVASTED , this was our lively hood to keep us a float when the time came and for an emergency! IT IS NOT THAT SIMPLE!

Good for Century link. I had a completely different experience with T-Mobile. I had a pre-paid account with a $200 ballancce. I switched to another network and made sure it worked before I notified T-Mobile & asked for a refund. They won't give it to me because I activated my new account before I requested the refund. Now I'll never get it. They have lousy ethics.
