Both pink and green immediately wussing out and quitting (not knowing the other quit) is comedy. Players botting left and right really brings Risk down as a game. Borderline ruins it, even.

I dont think green's cap was such a bad choice given Germany is a two-point hold due to the blizzards. For late game it is indeed not ideal, easily card blockable.

The morocco cap was an ok choice but I figure someone caps behind me as they did. Gascony is worse here since there was only a 1. The real skill is not shooting live so I get actual games. Not much in terms of strategy to be learned from this one I'm afraid.

Yes, lets make true random the new meta 👍 Changes the dynamics a bit but be interesting to see how it plays. Maybe intermediate+ might mitigate the silly cap and bot? White was gifted the game turn 1 🤣

Can go either way... It's the same for everyone. I think the idea behind it was combating the broken cap rolls. We didn't really see many this match though.

It's definitely not up to me to determine what is meta. I tend to try and figure out the puzzle, what works and what doesn't work and let you all figure out what to do with that.

I doubt it will ever be a meta setting and probably not viable for competitive either. The true random matches I've played definitely played out differently. No guarantees, ppl less likely to noob slam, you can guard with a 2 stack sometimes 🤣 I wouldn't say it's horrible but you kinda play it differently.

I would love it if you could in one of your videos while playing caps, if you could explain why you cap where you do and where is good/bad depending on situations. Specifically, I’m interested to know the reasoning behind not capping on that 4 in North Africa?

A cap that allows you take a bonus quickly could be a good one. A cap on a territory that is hard to cardblock is also something to look out for. Capping nearby other caps or in the same group can be bad because then you and an opponent want to grow in the same area, possibly resulting in both of you growing slower. The Morocco cap was not great because it can be easily cardblocked plus there were high odds of someone capping nearby. The cap in the middle of this board is considered one of the best as it lets you get both a bonus easily and it’s harder to cardblock. Lastly, if you are one of the last players in a six player game, capping on a “one” is risky on this map, because other players can have enough troops on their first turn to conquer it. Especially player 4 and 5, because these players start with extra troops.

Hey Pete, what eas the reason for early on not pushing further east? You had thst whole side of the board to claim. I understand you need to slow white down, but without the east resources you couldnt slow them down until the sets get larger anyway, due to true random.

My guess is he couldn't actually take it early on, he tried and got bad dice. He can't hold it with just 1s because of all the bots. Also, assuming he used all his troops to take out the East, anyone sniping the stream could have bulldozed through him.

I honestly resent true random, you feel punished by luck far more & we’re trying to avoid as many “lucky” situations as possible. It also tends to create longer games & more stalemates due to the massive defence is offers on late game caps.
