I found your channel like a week or so ago, and it is one of several pieces that have pushed me to where I am now. This time last week, I was a disillusioned postal worker who called out for a week straight because I couldn't take it anymore. Now, I'm starting up a small business, trying to make a KZbin channel, and content like this is my lifeforce now. My ultimate goal is to move to Europe, as you did. I'm a writer, but I've only ever sold one piece so I feel I have a way to go. But I know that I can get there. Thank you for posting these! :)

Wow, thank you for sharing. To think that my words have impact on anyone means something but to read messages like this, I truly have no words, but I’m so glad to hear that my videos have helped to move you make such big shifts in your life… just thank you for sharing. It truly means the world. I’m so moved by your passion and your resilience. Sometimes the smallest thing sort of knocks us over the head and wakes us up. It’s happened to me a few times in my life, at times where I too felt disillusioned. I 100% believe you will make all your hearts desires happen… you already did the hardest part… you started! Congratulations! You’ve got this! ✨☺️🙌🏻

Lovely and full of gems. If i may, I will add one more that has made an impression on me. The great Martha Beck has often noted that we are designed to know what to do next. If we don't know what to do next it means we are tired. Lie down. Rest. As your system recovers having a sense of what to do next will be revived. This isn't on a what to do with my life scale but rather on a granular day to day scale. Eventually (as you are so elequently saying here), one thing will lead to another.

I’m so happy to hear it… we all do it (me very much included). Most of the time we think ourselves into a corner when we just need to let go and let things happen. I’m so glad to hear it resonated with you and I hope it helps for all future cycles of overthinking 😉✨

@the.ashfiles2 күн бұрын
Thank you for sharing this-it means a lot. I completely understand how starting over can feel overwhelming, especially when life comes with so many responsibilities and constraints. I think the idea here isn’t about having the resources to ‘afford’ big changes but about finding small, manageable ways to take steps that feel possible, wherever you are in life. Even something as simple as exploring a curiosity or changing a small routine can lead to clarity over time. You’re not alone in this, and it’s never too late to try something-no matter how small-that feels just for you.✨🫂

Girl, you remind me so much of me in my 30s. Now a decade later, I'm listening to your words, and I'm just wishing you a beautiful life. I'm just wishing you "Beauty for Ashes", if you'll pardon the play on words, my dear... Thank you for the beauty you bring, and even in the lovely package that you bring it like getting a christmas gift and the wrap is so beautiful and the bow is so beautiful that it's almost as full of anticipatory delight as the actual delight brought by whatever is inside the box...This, itself, is meaningful. Makes your life meaningful, and matter to many. My mom always says "we're all just here to walk each other home", and you really do that beautifully, which is so important in the woods of this life, as so many of us are feeling our way forward...I sat here listening to your words, grateful for the reminders, grateful for the very timely encouragement, and even the synchronicity of you were mentioning bingeing Doritos, when I did just that at 4 in the morning last night while reading a David Grann novel, because I couldn't sleep because my head has been full of "what is my next step? Which road to take at this fork?"... Grateful for your graceful, gentle wisdom, grateful for our paths intersecting. And just hope that you realize how extraordinary your bravery is; how you were willing to walk back into the theater, turn the lights on the stage again, choose your props and your backdrop, be willing to create a new story, at least the skeleton of a story, and know that there will be a beautiful play. There will be good action on the stage, and I think love will even walk in stage left and illuminate everything even more for you. I wish you beauty. I wish you love. I just want to just say thank you for your deeply meaningful contribution to all of our lives, thank you for your lovely, meaningful life...Thank you for helping my bravery, to walk back into the "theater", one more time....❤

The past week or so i have just been in a downward spiral of anxiety, and overthinking. The anxious is still there but just in the back burner of my brain. I have just been sorta stuck in this state, im not really sure why. Your videos seem to pop up just in the correct moment, thank you so much for making the videos you make, it always feels like that person you dont hear from very often but when you do, its like there was no gap in time at all, its really comforting. In the video you said "starting is just starting, its giving yourself permission to explore" im not sure why this settled me down but it helped ( even just a little ) to allow myself the chance to, make mistakes. i dont know how much sense this is really making. But just, everything about your video style and just the words in them resonate with so many people. Think im gonna safe this and come back to when im feeling really, out of sync with myself. Have a good week!!!

It putting one into the mindset of asking internal questions. Its so refreshing becasue it pushes my mind in nessasary yet neglegted directions in a way that feels like cahnge will happen, at my own pace, I just have to let it. I am very greatful to have found your channel. Since ive been watching your videos I have begun the process of living for me, distancing myself from people that negativly impact my life. And am now starting the process of moving to somwhere Ive wanted to for years, but alwasy felt like I needed some sign or go ahead to make it happen. And for that and so many more little moment. I’m 68, retired, live alone. My passion is creating, or it used to be. But I’m terribly bored. Nothing appeals to me anymore. I just watched a video about Dopamine and it made so much sense. And oh, yea…I was diagnosed w ADHD twenty years ago. But no meds have helped. I raised a family, did a lot of creative projects, when my family was young. But now, in retirement nothing appeals to me… Sooo, watching this and hearing your soothing voice, the intelligence you share as you explain an extremely emotional topic is really helpful. Because in this moment I know I’m not alone. I know there IS hope…and honestly, I’m very grateful that the blahs didn’t hit hard until these past five years. One of my fears tho is that I’ll start something, put myself out there, then get bored and I’ll stop. Will I let ppl down, will I waste $(that I don’t have to waste). Because I have started then stopped, I have bought supplies, etc. and it feels pretty empty because I feel like I’ve failed. Sheesh! For now, I’ll watch more of your videos…new subscriber! Yay, I found you! And I know I need to move my body more… My heart ♥️ goes out to all of “us” as we bravely wake up and start each day…hoping to find motivation, interest and possibility.

This hit me. Thank you so much for sharing. First, I just want to say-I see you, and I’m so glad you found your way here. The way you describe the ‘blahs’ creeping in later in life, the fear of starting and stopping, of investing in something only to lose interest-I think a lot of people will relate to that more than they even realize. But what if stopping isn’t failing? What if it’s just following curiosity until it runs its course? Not everything has to be a lifelong passion. Some things are just meant to be enjoyed in the moment, no pressure, no expectations. I hope you give yourself the space to explore without feeling like you have to commit forever. And I truly hope you find little sparks of joy again, in whatever way feels right for you. ✨🫂☺️

Thank you for your kind & thoughtful response. I’ll keep on keeping on…and try not to judge or assess myself. I’m learning to look at interactions …whether it’s on a dating app, or exploring a new idea as an experience. That helps. But I still yearn for feeling a sense of satisfaction. And it’s been minimal. But I’m “here” to learn and grow and probably to teach others simply by sharing… I’ll keep visiting you here! And, I just bought the outline(book) about writing fiction. I’m hoping it will help me share a story that’s been bubbling inside my head for many years… Never a dull moment in there!!! 😊

A wonderful video thank you. This one speaks to me because I will be turning 39 in just over 3 weeks. And I have never really felt like I have known "What to do with my life". And for me, a big part of this is with my having been born with a physical disability, Congenital Hydrocephalus & Hypertonia that causes too much muscle spasticity on the entire left side of my body (my left side is semi deformed) all of the big dreams & goals that I had as a kid were torn down & attacked & stolen away from me by the abusive 'parents' that didn't want me to achieve anything great because they wanted me to 'settle' for less like they did. To be honest when I have as much challenges & hardships as I do, I need my life or more accurately my existence to "make sense". I love how in your videos it sounds like you are simultaneously talking to both yourself & us as listeners & it is so calming, soothing & helpful, thank you. Again I love your videos & channel. ❤

I haven’t gotten to delete Facebook and Instagram honestly because I’m already connected so much on Facebook and instagram but I know I will be at peace with my privacy and people not trying to dig into my accounts to learn about me. I know I will be okay but I’m so self aware how ADDICTED it was to social media. I am also planning to just keep my Pinterest, Goodreads & KZbin account since I don’t have any tie to them & i genuinely just like these platforms.
@the.ashfiles19 сағат бұрын
I completely understand these feelings. I’ve been reflecting recently on my own social media use. And while I use it for work I’ve definitely had to set boundaries for myself when it comes to non-work usage. They say we are more connected than ever these days but it’s only surface level and I deeply want to move back to more intentional connection. Some platforms, like KZbin are a great salve. But I know it’s hard, we are all addicted, but good for you for noticing and taking action. Small steps, you don’t need to do them all at once! You got this! 🫂✨❤️

I think human life is too complex to just have one purpose. Every person's life has many diverse aspects like work, family, frds,love, passion, hobbies , things they hate, socio political views, religious identity and values etc. All these things collectively create their overall sense of existence. So I don't think we should look for one singular purpose that provides meaning and objective to all these sectors. We should keep balance among them and not obsess over one particular sector.

What could you feel with your mornings, afternoons, days and nights.?
@the.ashfiles14 сағат бұрын
You could start by paying attention to what already exists in your mornings, afternoons, and nights-what feels good, what drains you, what you avoid. The answer isn’t always about adding something new; sometimes, it’s about noticing what’s already there and shifting accordingly. If nothing stands out, experiment. Make mornings about curiosity, afternoons about movement, and nights about unwinding. The goal isn’t to have a perfect schedule; it’s to build a life that feels like it fits you. ✨🫂

In all sincerity, your heart will actually shift, shape and build anything for you, every day, out of nothing.

Here is my better question: what do you say when a video dairy is impossibly beautiful?

I first found you on TikTok and have now found you on KZbin. What a crazy random happenstance! I enjoyed your videos and even bought a Freewrite Typewriter to help me concentrate. I didn't move to Europe but moved halfway across the US for a better shot at life. And to actually write my novels. I even want to make videos discussing my influences, which I'll eventually make. So seeing your videos helps me with some of that motivation. Thank you!

I need an episode about how to deal with too much to do when ignoring doesn't really help. 🫣
