Actually, it is stupid, Kelton’s theory is built on faulty fundamentals. If your first principles are wrong, everything built on top of them is wrong and that’s unfortunately the case with MMT (and keynesian theories for that matter). The natural state of the free market is deflation, in a free market prices should fall to the marginal price of production. There is absolutely no reason why we should aim for even a small bit of ‘controlled’ inflation, research the basis for the belief that inflation is required for a productive economy, it’s based on the assumption that people won’t buy anything anymore if their purchasing power doesn’t systematically go down. Talk about nonsense… People buy things/services because they want the experience that thing/service offers them, not because their money will be worth less tomorrow and they need to spend it therefore… In fact, we have products that systematically go down in price for the same product every year like TV’s and computers but does that mean nobody buys TV’s or computers anymore and delays their purchases indefinitely? It’s really sad that our retarded economics theories, which our financial system is built op, are based on an assumption so easily falsified that a toddler could do it… Do me and yourself a favor and look into Austrian Economics, which is the theory of economics that is compatible with reality and a prosperous future.

And Kelton and other MMT-economists proof their points with facts. The MMT describes the monetary system and inflation/deflation. Just because it's called theory that does not mean that all of it are assumptions.

@@UL1999 Deflation is only bad in a debt-based economy. A debt-based economy has to steal from everyone through inflation in order to keep the debt from spiralling out of control. A non-debt-based economy can allow everyone’s purchasing power to go up every year through deflation. So what would you prefer? A system that continually makes it harder for people to afford life, or one that makes it continually easier for people to afford life? The former is supported by Keynesian economics and MMT, the latter is supported by Austrian economics. The former leads to governments growing to unsustainable sizes, the latter leads to efficient governments. Choose wisely…

@@user-ng1ws8we1v There is no non-debt-based economy. Let's say all of our yearly earnings (wages, Tax-income of the state, pensions, social benefits, etc.) are 1 Trillion USD. Of course many of us want to save a part of it for different reasons. Let's assume an average of 10%. An economy can only earn that money, which she spended before, which means that our new combined income is 900 Billion USD. But as you can see 100 Billion are missing and somebody will lose money. For each dollar saved somebody else becomes poorer, except somebody spended more money them earned. Somebody has to borrow money (wheather newly printed or taken from a creditor) and spend it. So even if we stop crearing new money by going into debt, we still have to go into debt.
