Nice bowl! I've seen many people use a chainsaw to get a blank to clear the bed, but never thought of using an electric hand plane. Very clever. Thanks!

Hi Pat, yes i seen that to with the chain saw.. but i think the hand planer is better and safer to use by the lathe .. thank you for the comment and for watching i really appreciate it .. Have a great day. and stay safe 😀😀

Great save and refocus, turned out to be a special piece. I am more intrigued by your turning the lathe the other way, I seriously stopped breathing waiting for a catch. Thanks for sharing and for showing a description of tool being used. Stay safe and keep up the turning.

Been there, done that, funny how the wood talks and tell you what to do. At least some times. Lovely bowl.

Love the finished bowl. You're braver than me tackling that log. I'm struggling with a brandy glass shaped form at the moment. It doesn't want to go well.

Thank you very much for the comment and for watching i really appreciate it 😀 My wood pusher wonted 6 redvine glasses for all the wood he give me, and it took me forever to get the shape right, i nede some nice once but i was not able to delicate them after, there was simply to many details Good luck with the turning .. Stay safe and have a great day 😀😀

Haha "Had a little talk with the wood". Usually the wood makes me guess what it wants😁 I too have mounted the blank the wrong way. Now I plan and plan and plan some more and I only have those problems once in a while🤷♀️ Anyway, this bowl turned out Pretty Good👍 I like it😃 Stay safe. -Mike😷

How did you add the weight under your lathe? I added sand in the legs but more weight under would be better?
