But how do you even get an audition for a SAG project if most SAG projects require people to be in the Union already? My agent won't even submit me for SAG stuff because I am not SAG. Any tips? thank you!

And are the Thursdays and Fridays you provide training, are those set days / can those be made up if one is not able to attend? Thank you for everything you do♥️

Until you've studied with a legit coach for a few years and started to book principal roles in non union gigs don't bother just yet. If you live in a small town or right-to-work state, then don't bother. If you start booking paid acting gigs, then you may start to consider joining. If you want to do this for a living and not as a hobby, then you may consider joining. If you plan on moving to LA or NY then you may consider it. Realize it costs close to 4k to join then dues every 6 months whether you work or not. All of this info is something any legit acting coach should be able to convey to you.

It’s best to join when you’re ready. It’s not something you randomly jump into (especially when you have zero experience)

Did the rules change because I thought you had to work three days union or have 3 Taft Hartleys to join. I’ve been eligible since 1998. When you’re saying you only need to book one union job that’s not the way I understood it back in 1998. Edit: One day is SAG eligible for principal meaning you have lines. I think that’s a point that definitely needs to be clarified because you could have no lines and get three Taft Hartleys like I did back in 1998 and be SAG eligible.

I have been doing background jobs for a few years, and I have two waivers. I need to get one more waiver to be able to join SAG. What do you suggest to get the third one? Also if I am non-union, is it possible to book a SAG project? I thought you had to be a SAG member to work a SAG job.

$3,000 is a lot for someone starting out. Sounds like gate keeping. People w/ the money or Daddies with it preferred? I support the union but that upfront fee seems elite-ish.
