To all of he people confused, snakes actually really like living in small spaces. In the wild they rarely move and live in super tiny holes. Actually, if you put a snake in too large of a cage, they can get extremely stressed, and can even die of stress.
@dannydark07 жыл бұрын
Actually, my first ever snake was a king snake, and I kept it in a 60 gallon tank, which my pet shop told me was appropriate.The snake wouldn't eat because it was so stressed by the huge enviroment. I bought a smaller tank and he started eating again.

Seeing a snake would literally shake me to my core. I started watching when they would cut into the eggs and I thought it was so cute being surprised with their patterning. I started to not be afraid of them and watching these videos makes me feel so comfortable with them. I’d never touch a snake but I definitely lightened up and grown to find interest in snakes.

Everyones freaking out about her cage.. snakes like small spaces and will become extremely stressed out in larger areas. They're main predators are birds that will happily eat any snake in an open area. Because of this they wedge themselves in a variety of tiny spaces and spend a lot of their life there. As far as mental stimulation with plants and what-not, it doesn't hurt to give them hides, but with a snake that big, what the hell kind of hide are you going to give her? For people that don't keep snakes it might seem cruel, but in reality they take amazing care of their snakes.

There's an INCREDIBLY large difference between ideal living for a snake and what's natural. Thing is, humans are apt to get mad about being cooped up and everything, but a lot of other animals don't care as long as they have easy survival. Snakes have a stressful life, as eating leaves them vulnerable and they're almost always in constant danger in the wild. The snake does not care in the slightest as long as it gets fed, and feels safe in a habitat. They don't feel emotion like we do, and as long as you aren't putting them in enclosures that cramp them TOO much, they're usually fine. It's a matter of maintaining all the proper conditions to ensure that the animal is healthy, since all the animal cares about is survival.
@TeenyTheOne7 жыл бұрын
Thing is we're learning more about snakes now and people are still keeping them the way we did in the 90s! Royal/ball pythons are probably the biggest victims with this, new studies have descovered that male royals spend almost all their lives up trees and eat mostly birds, does this mean royal keepers will start adding climbing oppertunities for their snakes? No, because that is a hard thing to do and keeping them in plastic boxes is easier for them. Its fuel for the antis and keepers need to step up their game. My rainbow boa has a branch to climb on even though she rarely uses it and my common boa has a branch to and she uses it nearly every day even after shes eaten, even though most common boa keepers would say "they are big, they dont like to climb, they only hide!". Fact is snakes dont only move to find food, they are smarter then we give them credit for. Snake rub their head and noses raw trying to get out of tiny boxes we put them in, a bit more space would make all the difference.
@sanduiche37 жыл бұрын

If I'm being completely honest it looks like such a boring life for a snake to live in a box but your pythons are so beautiful
@thrand67608 жыл бұрын
HollarForADollar :D snakes dont feel boredom really, my Boa litterely stays in the same spot for months, only being moved when i show her or feed her or when she sheds
@fearlesslife218 жыл бұрын
I was thinking along the same lines. I was feeling bad for the snakes because it seems they have no interaction except for feeding, giving birth or cleaning the cage.

that's what nature does it shit eats survives breeds then survives eat survives and dies and gets eaten or gets eaten before it dies from old age that's how nature is so quit bitching of you were a animal you won't have the technology to play games when your a snake this is what the beauty of nature is just nature needs love and respect

Wat? no. It's a snake. Size has no relation to whether or not it displays acts of aggression.

I’m in love with this channel, it’s totally getting me so comfortable and ready for my first snake this Christmas, I love all marine life and my mother always kept me around reptiles when I was younger so I’m ready to raise my own snake and I’m just so excited and getting back into everything about reptiles again and this is really the perfect channel!!❤️🐍

Poor, beautiful girl, she doesn't deserve being in such a small cage. There's no enrichment or interest for her there. Come on, Brian, you can do better than this.

Kasey Thompson Snakes live in small spaces, it makes them feel safe, not every animal shares tge same traits as humans, some are just wired to "can it eat me, can i eat it" snakes fall in to that category...

This further convinces me that pythons should not be kept as pets particularly with the problem in Florida.
@himissgivemeperfectplease83186 жыл бұрын
Alan Heath dude. The ones in Florida are called Burmese python, the one that escaped was a retic and only people with years of experience buy them, because they big and active.

@mclovin91518 жыл бұрын
It would be a disaster. The king snakes would kill a ton of snakes and you'd lose your entire business if you can't contain it before they all find hiding spots or infest the house. That'd be funny if you had to fumigate your house because there are too many snakes in the walls

yeah they enjoy small places. But not plastic containers. I understand he is a breeder, and they make decisions based on money, but look at the amount of snakes he has. He can’t possibly care for them all properly. as an animal lover I’d rather watch chandlers wildlife.

This reminds me of when I worked at a local reptile shop. So one day, our 18ft+ burmese python, our store mascott, was put in the backroom in a temporary enclosure while we cleaned her display enclosure in the front of the shop. The backroom was where we had our "feeder window" so thats where customers would walk up to ask for crickets or rodents etc. Well while i was getting rats for a customer, his eyes got really wide and he started pointing behind me. Coming out of the bathroom, at above my eye level, was our 18ft burmese python lol. I had to race to the cash register and ask for assistance. Myself and the 2 other employees who were working that day had to drop everything we were doing to go and get her and put her back. She was MUCH sweeter about being put back than this retic here though haha. She just let us put her back while customers either laughed or backed away in terror lol. The only tough part was her weight. Big snakes are so akward to carry lol. Getting her out of her enclosure was honestly harder than putting her back in. She LOVES her enclosure and tries to stay in it when you try to take her out. Ill bet thats why she broke the glass on her temporary enclosure, just to get back to her "home". Shes still alive actually, but the shop is under new ownership now. Shes 29 years old if I remember correctly.
