PIT is vastly overused in Arkansas. The thousands of dollars in damages and injuries and possible deaths of both the suspects and innocent bystanders is just not warranted. Anybody remember the pregnant woman that Arkansas HP PIT’d because she didn’t pull over right away? With today's tech and GPS and all I don't find it hard for an automated system that engages all semaphores (traffic lights) in red while a cruiser approaches with emergency lights on. It will save time and lives, that chase was slowed down so many times for those lights. Even put an extra led sign on the lights indicating like "Emergency" in flashing colors so others DO take the red light more seriously, I don't know. It can be easy and cheap to implement. Great chase!
@Ghost-jy9hk Жыл бұрын
It’s not a matter of technology. It’s the money to implement it
@dotnet97 Жыл бұрын
Suddenly changing lights like that sounds like a good idea until you consider actually moving traffic. You end up still needing to smoothly transition through yellow to allow incoming traffic to slow down as they would for a light, and so at that point you've already lost so much of the potential benefit relative to the cost of implementation.
