Hello Prince. Since you applied using the old passport, please send both (your new and old) passports to the IRCC in the mail. That's what is expected. This way, they can decide to give you your full visa be cause they know that you are the same person who applied and you have an extended passport covering the period of your study or work in Canada.

As you said in your video, you were issued 2years study permit even though your visa was 7months on your old passport. So does that mean you will have to apply for another visa when it is about to expire or because the study was 2years you do not need to apply for a visa anymore. Thanks

Hello. That’s not a problem. When you get the passport request, send both the old and new passport to IRCC. They’ll stamp the new passport.

Yes. You will only get visa a study permit up to the expiry date of your passport, if your passport is expiring before your study completion.

Hello. Yes, the Nigerian immigration will request your old passport for the processing of the new one. Nonetheless, they will give it back to you before you get the new one. They do not hold onto your expired or expiring passport just because you got a new one. I told them that my old passport was expiring soon, so they handled my new passport processing as a passport TRANSFER or MIGRATION (can't remember the exact term they called it) because I still had more than six months at the time that I was applying for the new passport.
