Ugh the powerchairs looks so uncomfortable. I'm on my third powerchair and so far deep actice contour works for me. I had similar backrest on my first chair and I purchased a back rest cushion from posturite to put on it. 😂 I really hope this manual chair meets your needs now.

It really was! I should have asked wheelchair service to put a different back rest on it, but never thought I'd end up with it for 6 months! I'm glad you've found a backrest that gives you the support you need. I feel so much better sitting in the new chair - my back is supported, it's much easier to move around and my ankles are more supported too. The old chair and powerchair have just been picked up and I'm feeling lighter. It's a huge sense of relief to finally have things as they should be. Xx

Do you have any tips for self propelling when wearing on front ? I find there legs get in the way so you can only do half pushed if that makes sense what do you prefer you invacare fox or the manuel with smartdrive ?

Sorry for the delay in replying. I don't have any tips I'm afraid - I can't self propel myself very well, let alone when babywearing. Gem from Wheels No Heels might have some helpful advice. Powerchairs massively reduce my independence. I'm not medically allowed to drive, so whatever wheelchair set up I have needs to be transportable in a variety of different peoples cars. This isn't possible with a powerchair. So for me, the best option is an active user wheelchair and SmartDrive. Hope that helps!

When Tania Talks I shall try and remember to find a way of messaging you tomorrow re babywearing :) I know it sounds stupid but I feel so much more disabled in my power chair I do love it though just brought a Phoenix instinct twin set so I can do my shopping again yay and wouldn’t be able to tow them on my xenon

My understanding is that it's an NHS building that wheelchair service use a room in, but didn't originally. Not that this makes it any better. Someone still made the decision that this was a good location for wheelchair service. Inside is just as bad - a tiny corridor with multiple manual doors, two of which need to be opened at the same time to get a wheelchair through! Xx
