You are right in a way so is Sam. The name Ogaden is the internationally known name for that region. So both names are right, but in my view the appropriate name should be somali galbeed. But I am sure Ethiopia will be against that name because that name will suggest that it should be part of somalia because somali galbeed means western Somalia. The name Ogaden is also OK because it also indicates that Somalis leave there. I know not only the Ogadeni tribe leave there. But it is better called Ogaden then the Ethiopians given it other name. The Ethiopians are even calling it the Ogaden imagine if they have named the place in their language or something.

Waaqoyi Galbeed and Bari are actually providences but it can also indicate cardinal directions. Also, I don't know any southerns who called Koonfur as "Konfiir" but as someone from the South, we actually say Koonfur and not Konfiir. But then again, I'm from the Gedo region which is almost all its residents are originally from Central Somalia and East Ethiopia.

The place were you were saying is called Ogadenia in Ethiopia is just a place full of Ogaden people. But Ogadens also live in different other places like other Somalis. I know this coz im Ogaden. But i was born and raised in Kenya. Btwz Ogadens are also known for living in Garissa too. A city in Kenya.
