I don't see the big deal. Maybe it's a regional thing. Here in Miami the question "where are you from?" implies what your heritage is. Most people don't mean ill by it but are just making small talk. I say this as 100% Latino. I don't understand the offense unless you think the person is asking with ill intent b

The offense is when you answer and they declare your answer not good enough. Listen closer to the poem and you'll know... or you know, declare people are being too sensitive. 😒🙄😏
