Eggman has been stagnating, staying in the same routine to where it's almost like he's frozen in time, and doesn't realize until it's too late that everything was changing around him, to where he was failing to realize he was still where he always was, while Tails was growing up and wanting to lead his own life, in frustration, he asks where he is going in his life, Sonic has no true answer to this, as not even his speed let's him see the future. This causes Eggman to enter a phase of denial, and bargaining, he'd do anything to go back to the way things were, or at least be prepared to adjust, but we can't change the past. This leads him into rage, he feels robbed, by the world, time, but most of all, himself, and takes it out on his allies. This only pushes Tails away, Sonic doing his best to have Tails reconsider running away, but as a freedom fighter, he wouldn't outright stop him. Eggman tries to reconcile with Tails, but he was pushing too soon, the damage has been done with no time to heal, this makes Tails hide how his life is doing, not until Eggman could accept his decision, leaving Eggman to scream to the world, to Tails, and himself.. "Why?!" Such a sad story, for a man that had deluded himself to have the entire world, and his own life figured out like machinery or data. It explains his obsession with robotics and Eggman land, where everything is supposed to stay the same in the way he made it. Alright I'm done, give me your likes.

I’ve figured out what this is. After finally defeating Robotnik for good, Sonic decides to kidnap him for safe measures. Only Sonic and Tails know about the secret area that Sonic chose to place and imprison Robotnik. But Tails has a little dilemma since Robotnik is Tails’ adoptive father and keeps pestering him to tell him where he’s being taken. But Tails knows he can’t do that, so he and Sonic are just being dickishly stubborn
