@Kill-Kier2 жыл бұрын
@@themercifulguard3971 But the Vanir come from a completely different realm to the Aesir and they were at war for a long time. By 'outsiders' they don't mean just the likes of Kratos from a different pantheon. Outsiders can mean anyone who is not a God from Asgard. Freya was treated terribly while she lived in Asgard. They murdered giants just because of what race they belonged to. They treat everyone else with disrespect. Odin is only interested in controlling the other races for his own gain and so doesn't view them as his own people. He acts out of fear. There was that tale from Mimir where he said everything was attributed to Frigg as they didn't want the Vanir getting any credit. Odin only cares about the Aesir and everyone else are outsiders.

They wanted kratos to come to this land and kill this pantheon, As Tyr tried his best to make peace but failed because of ODIN. in GOW-R Kratos will destroy Norse pantheon and kill odin and then all other patheons will rush in to destroy kratos OR Tyr will use Kratos name to spark fear in other pantheon Gods to stay in line or kratos will come to destroy your pantheon.

So during a play through of GOW, I had a crazy thought. So I’m in helheim to kill the gatekeeper and Mimir and Kratos are talking about the consequences of killing him. Mimir says it would remove an obstacle for anyone trying to reach the inner sanctum of helheim and then asks who would ever want to go there. So with this statement and then Mimir mentioning that even Odin couldn’t withstand Helheim’s cold….. I thought this may be a bit of foreshadowing for the next game. Odin is made out to be pretty tricky and clever. So what if, the inner sanctum of Helheim is actually where he put Freya’s warrior spirit? It always struck me as odd that she needed the gatekeepers heart of all things. Seems to me like that would have huge repercussions? (assuming helheim wasn’t already overflowing with the dead since the valkyries were all already imprisoned not doing their jobs lol). However, whether she actually needed the heart or not, if her warriors spirit was in the inner sanctum this would remove an obstacle for her especially since she can’t fight. I realize this may be a stretch but just something to think about. If I’m being completely honest, I completely thought we would cross the bridge of the damned on my first play through. Just like i figured we would be jumping off the path in the realm between realms when Brok first warned us to never do that. (That one was a bit more obvious since they actually had a little ledge leading to nowhere on that path with the option to jump prior if I remember correctly)
@arvintyree11092 жыл бұрын
It could be plausible. There would've been a plot hole with her being spellbound to Midgard. but she can ask the valkyries to retrieve her warrior spirit if she learns it's in helheim (or another realm)
@lilchaos92122 жыл бұрын
Another interesting thing in connection with that is that perhaps Hel has it? She was imprisoned in Helheim in the myths and due to her being Loki's child and important for Ragnarok alongside her brothers Jörmungandr and Fenrir, it would make sense she would be locked or kept somewhere too. Maybe she'll help Freya or may even fight her since Freua technically wants to kill her grandfather?
@PongKrell.2 жыл бұрын
You’re definitely on to something, I don’t Think they would add the part of “Even Odin can’t withstand the cold/winds of hel” for Nothing. I like your theory 👍 My theory about Helheim is that in GoW Ragnarok The giant bird, or Hræsvelgr, Will be a fight for cheating/interupting death. As Well as Surt might have some say, since he was mentioned as Well.

Don’t forget that Freya didn’t have her warrior spirit before Kratos kills helheims gatekeeper, Freya battles with kratos and baldur at the end. That means she has her warrior spirit back, and we saw in the gow ragnarok trailer that she attacks Atreus and kratos

Also, I keep thinking of this particular idea. What if everything that actually defines Tyr, like goodness, the will of helping others, basically his overall image, is just words? What if he in fact only wanted to reach some ultimate goal and he is a false good god? Huh, i can only imagine the intrigue. Don't mind tihs, i love drama and plot twists, i know this isn't the case for such theory :)) Also, it seems like everything revolves around The Higher Plane of Existance. Even before GOW 2018 came out or was even announced, I had the theory that this higher plane of existence created all of the primordial deities of each pantheon. I speculated this higher plane to have been the Gnostic pantheon (which I believe it was you who made a video about this a while back), and that Athena either became a servant to the aeon Sophia, became Sophia herself, or was in fact Sophia incarnate within the Greek pantheon. The same may be true for Tyr. Great minds think alike!

As someone who just played the game on PC, the one take away from all the Tyr stuff is just how ever present Tyr's actions are, and always for good, which is a distinct difference from how almost every god is portrayed, and this lends to me credence to the idea that he's an outsider. Which would explain why Kratos' has to follow Tyr's trail as another outsider. Plus I just also like they scholarly theory that the Aesir gods where created to replace the "foreign" gods aka the Vaenir . And i think the devs are at least away of this since they made Freya and Frigg the same person in their story.

So I just had a thought. When the World Serpent talks to Mimir, Kratos, and Atreus(Loki) why did he only recognize Atreus?? Does that mean Kratos dies before the World Serpent is born? Otherwise why wouldn’t he recognize both of them?? Also on another note when he think that they’re Asier he gets visibly aggravated and if Kratos doesn’t age very much also due to his looks why would he even confuse him for Asier at all? My theory unless something changes is that Kratos died in that timeline where the Serpent was originally from sometime before the Serpent was born.

@lilchaos92122 жыл бұрын
Well based on what we know from Jörmungandr, he did indeed come from another timeline since he seems to have came from an alternative timeline where Kratos and Atreus never set off in their quest. Why? Because he won't be born and old enough, along with his siblings, to fight in Ragnarok. Both Loki and Angrboda are still children and no where near the age to have children, and seeing how he didn't recognise Kratos, something probably happened to Kratos in the original timeline that set Loki off to eventually cause Ragnarok. But in this timeline, because of Faye potentially learning things from Jörmungandr, she changed the timeline to a better outcome but now how Loki and Angrboda meet is different so perhaps it will the alternative versions of their children who escaped to this timeline that will fight. Since events changed, we have no idea how things will play out and if they will even have their future children still. But since, judging by Jörmungandr being shown and both Fenrir, Skoll, Hati and Hel being hinted at, they may have purposefully traveled to this new timeline to see that things play out like in Ragnarok with them all playing crucial roles.

Back in very old germanic and norse mythology (10 000 years ago) and during the Bronze Age (3000 years ago) Tyr was one of the most popular deities. Here in Sweden where I live we have plenty of petroglyphs from the Bronze Age and back at this time Tyr was the most famous god together with Frö (later Freyr in English). There are 24 characters in the Elder Futhark that are split in 3 parts: 8 characters for Tyr, Frö and another named Hagal respectively. The eight characters of Tyr starts with "T" which is literally referring to Tyr himself, meaning the oldest Futhark has a rune standing for Tyr himself. Hence the theory that Tyr is not a son of Odin in the game would make sense to the mythology as well. However as the mythology developed it is not 100 % confirmed of Tyr's actual origin and different theories exist

According to a very old book from 1918, Tyr was more worshipped at the beginning as God of war. But after a while, people prefer to trade instead of killing each other (I mean, they also traded with slaves, so war seems not to be THAT out of fashion). And with peace comes an era of poetry and wisdom. That's when Odin become God number 1 :D Here is a ranking (according to this book) with their more famous nordic name and their less famous "southern" name: After Sun (Sunday) and Moon (Monday) Tuesday (from Tyr) or *Ziistig (from Ziu) Wednesday (Odin) or **Wodanstag (Wodan) Thursday (Thor) or Donnerstag (Donar) Friday (Frigg) not the same God as Freya! The reality is that the Norse Tyr is used along with a bunch of other gods, Zesus and Jupiter, to reconstruct an ancient language and culture know in modern scholarly literature as "Proto-indo-european." This is an origin point of cultures that found themselves in as far apart as the Iberian peninsula to northern Indian. It's the source of the Greeks, Germans, Celts, Latins, Slavs, Persian, etc language. You can see a continued use of a term in multiple cultures that is hard to imagine thousands of years ago. Like, Aos Si and Asura... gods and god-like beings... just like Aesir. It's mostly a theoretical reconstruction, but a real cool rabbit hole to jump in!

As to this videos theory... there's another solution to religious origin to reality, other than a 'High Existence' with Prime Mover. And it's the older concept. That is, Ordered Beings rising from the chaotic lower forms or matter. That's what the Ancient Egyptians thought and so too the Greeks. Even the Norse thought this, as the Giant Ymir was born from the frozen spray of blood-like river. Then came the armpit babies.

So the world serpent we know and love was already sent back in time before his own birth.

I think it's possible he's Bor. In all of the mythology we've peiced together and all of the media representations he's always overlooked. We hear his name and then suddenly Odin is king. Most people don't even know that Odin has a father lol. Let alone one that is said to be a powerhouse in his own right. I think Tyr may just be Odin's father who he overthrew (Zeus Vs Kronos style lol).

I was rewatching your GOW greek saga from beginning to end and forgot that the enterance to the sisters of fate had a large eagle near the entrance. And obviously GOW 2018 also has a large eagle, granted in GOW 2 the eagle is an statue i just find it interesting how both have a super large Eagle or Bird guarding whatever. Don't know if its just coincidence or what but still.
@ulfsark782 жыл бұрын
Tyr and Zeus, etymologically, are the same god. Going backwards into proto-Germanic and even further back, you have Tyr, Tiwaz, and then the Proto-Indo-European Dyeus. Dyeus obviously is the root of the Latin Deus, but in ancient Greek, it became Zeus. In modern Greek, its Theos. EDIT: I typed this before I started watching the video LOL To expand, the Norse pantheon ultimate came from the Hindu Vedas.

Before watching i wanna personally say i hope tyr is either from or spent enough time in celtic myth to be nuada argetlam or nuada silver hand and both were the first gods of their respective pantheons and were gods of war and order, both had metal left arms, and its a common idea that irl crosspollination combined the two

If Tyr is from higher plane of existence then it increases the probability of we all seeing another Athena cameo in the GoW ragnarok which this time maybe real, idk. Also, Kaptain Kuba can't it be that the mural we see in jotunheim will eventually be atreus witnessing how his mother death during the time travel and he will be mourning that and we will see atreus unlock the spartan rage on the Aesir god who killed Faye. Cuz we still don't know how Faye died.
@manthenvashishth37692 жыл бұрын
@Prabh Sandhu yeah I get it. but just considering that plot hole kinda thing where we don't know how Faye died. Only with that in mind I said so. I'd say it'll be Tyr in the game.

I would also say according to what is in the mythology that Tyr was the first god until Odin came and dethroned him and called himself god of all. if you look at the days tyr is before odin, tyr is tuesday and odin is wednesday, of course you could say he sees himself as the middle and therefore wednesday, but as far as i know it's more something new with wednesday than middle, i don't know whether it is said like that everywhere because in German "Mittwoch - Wednesday“ „Mitte - middle“. I think Tyr comes at first
@hell0men8512 жыл бұрын
I don't think that Tyr is Odin's son because family plays a big part in God of war and Tyr is not mentioned to be related to any other Norse god where as all of them are related to each other in some way. Tyr must of been sent from the higher existence to stop wars around all pantheons since he is the only unselfish god that we know of
@connor44352 жыл бұрын
Idk, I think Tyr was locked up by Odin not because he’s from a higher plane but because Odin wants to control fate, we see that Tyr still has both his arms in the trailer but before Ragnarok happens Fenrir must rip one of them off, I think that Odin locked Tyr up so that Fenrir couldn’t remove Tyr’s arm and help start Ragnarok before Odin is ready

Make a theory on "how kratos and atreus will find tyr"
@МишаКай-щ7т2 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the clumsy English. Online translator. I don't know if they will read this not a small theory with time and a paradox. Well, I will write anyway. (Everything that will be in the framework is from the myths and legends of Scandinavia) Let's start with the legends of Loki: Loki is the god of fire and guile. One of the main characters of Scandinavian mythology. He is considered the main villain, but in fact, Loki constantly balances between good and evil, doing both good and bad deeds. Loki's parents are the giant Farbauti "Kratos, I will explain later why he is a giant", and the goddess Lauveia. Loki is not Odin's adopted son, but his sworn brother. They are connected by an ancient rite of fraternity. Loki fights Heimdall and both of them die from fatal wounds. Thus ends the story of the god of fire Nuances of the first part of the game: Mimir suspiciously did not want to go with Kratos and Atreyam to the mountain of giants will scatter the ashes of Kratos' Wife "Lauvey" mother of Atreus/Loki. There is a possibility that Mimir knows Loki, and knows where he is now. During the second part of the game God of War: Ragnarok.There are older versions of the characters. Kratos/Tyr Atreus /Loki Plot Theory of God of War: Ragnarok According to the plot, we will release Tyr and the conclusion of the dungeon, there will come a moment in the game where Kratos and Atreus will have to go to the sides in time to save each other. Atreus' time travel will take him to Greece to the half-dead Kratos. Perhaps this refers us to the clippings in the wall where "Kratos lies near Atreia, something comes out of Atreia." Atreus will give part of his divine power to save his father, thereby sharing the essence of the giant. And he will return to Scandinavia, the beginning of the beginning, under the name of Loki, will join the aces, hiding his whole essence, and will deceive the gods about his present origin, and the future, seeing Loki "the god of deception". (He is considered the main villain, but in fact, Loki constantly balances between good and evil, doing both good and bad deeds). There Loki and his first wife will please - Snake, Wolf and Hel. Perhaps Atreus' mother will help, recognize her son in Loki, because she knows the future, and will help prepare for a great war with the Gods. What is most interesting in the first game of the Kratos philosophy "Children should not kill their parents, and there is no revenge. After all, the whole path of Kratos was the very revenge of the wife of "Lauvey", to avenge the giants. All the way through, she predicted, and the death of Balder, which would lead to Ragnarok's death to all the gods. And so she will take revenge on Asama. "Then you can develop the game about Atreus in the form of Loki, and how he learned his divine powers, such as occur in myths, preparing for a great war" "Alone" will be interested in the legend of Ragnarok and find out that Loki will be the cause of a big war when he kills Bldor, and after Balder's death, Ragnarok will begin. After learning about such a legend, Baldor's mother Freya will want to save her son by making him immortal. And "One" for not yet committed crimes Loki children (wolf Fenrir will put on chains. Thor will encounter the serpent Ermungand and, having broken the tree of worlds, will transfer the serpent to the world of Kratos and Atreus. The gods chain Loki for life in a cave on a rock deep underground. To prevent the end of the world. The history of Kratos. Before he moves in time to the beginning of the beginning, mimir will give Kratos his eyes. And there he will meet Odin under a different name as "Tyr", and will wander around the world, as in the history of Tyr in the game. Gaining experience before the battle, in Egypt, Japan and of course in Greece before the events of the death of Olympus. And here we will get games on the "God of War" in different countries, except Greece, because they will all fall flat. Tyr and Kratos are a little similar - Tyr is a peace-loving god, which Kratos may come to. After all, Kratos has already begun to avoid war with the gods, only protecting himself if necessary. There are small nuances between Kratos and rostam Tyura, eye color, tattoos and white skin. White skin is a curse, and perhaps Kratos will redeem himself after his long journey. Tattoos in the world of magic can be erased or replaced through runes, etc. Growth, if the theory turns out to be true, then Atreus, saving his father, will give his part of the giant or give it completely, and it can be understood that Kratos will still grow up. Giants don't get old, they don't get sick. The eyes, as I said, will give Mimir. (Tyr, according to some legends, is read from the genera of giants), and in the game he is apparently a giant. When Kratos/Tyr learns that his son is Atreus/Loki in a bidet, in prison, will arrive in Scandinavia to save him, but "One" will already be waiting for him, realizing that Tyr is also involved in the death of the gods, and with other aces will put him in prison. This is already a theory of gameplay. What is the probability that we will be given to play for Tyr, and finish the battle with the gods by him? And in the game, when Atreus and Kratos free the Prison, go back in time, we will be given control of the Prison to free Loki, that is, the son. (When the end of the world begins - Ragnarok, Loki is freed from his shackles and takes part in the last battle on the side of darkness). Tyr and Loki, having gone a long way, will still fight in a big war. According to legend, Tyr without a hand, in some pictures Tyr has a shield. Like Kratos in the game, it's not a big coincidence. This theory is based on time travel, this is the paradox of the "Principle of self-consistency" of time, the cycle will close like a snake devouring its tail. Kratos and Atreus will make big circles before the battle, will be embodied in their mythical tales of Loki and Tyra. And the players will get into the hands of already experienced gods who will fight to the death. I repeat. Players will get to travel through the countries of Kratos before the battle. Atreus will co-exist with the gods of Scandinavia in a separate game, preparing for war. I repeat that it is very strange that they did not explain to us how Kratos got to Scandinavia, how he survived, even though there was a comic, which is very suspicious. So there is a plan for this understatement, and to give an answer later.

I think i found something in the GOW Ragnarok trailer video that no one has pointed out yet. I think the reason Tyr has not tried to escape from his prison is because he is tied by the unbreakable rope created by Brok and Sindri called Gleipnir which is actually used to tie Fafnir. And this is the reason Tyr is not free. What exactly are the implication of this on the story, I haven't tought about it yet. But I find it intersting that the reason Tyr looks so disheartened is bcz he has realised that he cannot breat the rope. Fafnir was tied to the rope by gods telling him they wanted to test the rope. I think the same was done to Tyr by Odin (Since Tyr is very trusting) and as a result he was captured by Odin.
