One of my all time favorites !!!!!!!! "Broadsword calling Danny Boy !!!!!" in Burton's voice is just perfect. Actually, for me, this is tied with "The Wild Geese", another underrated war movie with Richard Burton, Roger Moore, Richard Harris and Hardy Kruger. Just outstanding films. One thing that always gets me in WW II films is that everyone has an MP-40, lololololol. In this movie alone they have more MP-40's than a typical German infantry battalion. But you have to love it.

A truly classic war film and tale of deception, bluff and counter bluff as the allies rout out a spy ring in the midst of intelligence agency.

The movie follows the original book pretty faithfully. Really the only difference is a nitpick. In the book, they arrive in a Lancaster and leave in a Mosquito. In the movie, they use a JU-52 for both.

Clint Eastwood is such a scary looking guy. So scary that I would feel scared for the villain who has to face him. All jokes aside, hollywood has really developed the Badass American character nicely since the Eastwood days. All I can think about is Tom Cruise and his many stunts in the Mission Impossible series.
