I have a specific project i have a question for: Can you do collision based on texture instead of using the polygons so the collision is correlated to the texture on the polygon and the polygon itself is intangible? What I mean is I want to make an incredibly low poly style video game, and I want to make it so each surface of a building or whatever can actually be a single tri polygon with whatever shaped texture on it I need. In this way I could make a facade building without a roof with just 4 tris that overlap at the edge of the texture The way this would need to work is the actual tris the textures are attacked to will have to be much bigger and potentially would get in the way if they themselves had collision so just the portion with the texture has collision, and the tris can overlap as much as I need them to and be as large as I need because they're intangible and invisible, so they don't get in the way and can't be noticed or seen in gameplay I also want to do stuff like doors and windows you can pass through without building geometry for them, so the texture can simply have transparent and intangible holes Basically I don't care if you can see that it's flat, it's better to me to load more stuff at once with lower quality than have a tiny area where stuff actually loads because everything is super high polygon count I want crappy facade buildings with the same texture for all four wall with no roof, and floating sky cities made with like 20 polygons, I love the ps1 aesthetic and most of the other stuff in the game will be 2d billboards including civilians like in the old road rash games so visuals will be low resolution and flat

@@lelolfire If it's the north west of England you're after you're gonna need an army, to start. A sizeable navy also wouldn't be a bad idea. The north and the south don't always get along terribly well, but I wouldn't count on the crown letting pieces of Blighty go over it. Keep us updated!

I hope you will post more videos. Lately I started to look at microcontrollers. I initially wanted to buy a Raspberry Pi Pico W, but I'll go with a ESP32 (I think the raspberry is made by an English company). I think there is a lot to learn there too and maybe you could make a video or two about it. The pico has 256k of ram and 2mb of flash. The esp32 has a bit more and you have plenty of models with different characteristics. What I mean is that you are not THAT limited, like you were in the past. You also can't waste resources. I don't know how "hardware" you are. I know I am not hardware at all. Two weeks ago I didn't know what a breadboard was or a GPIO. But at the same time, you never learn as much as when you don't know. I think it would be tough to port the olc engine on a microcontroller, because of dynamic memory management and because you cannot have a framebuffer on such limited hardware. I am NOT complaining, those limitations are what makes it exciting. The pico itself is not that expensive (I think you can find it for 6€) and the W has wifi capacities. It may seems irrelevant, but as sensors and screen etc can quickly be expensive, being able to _do_ something with your microcontroller is nice. Anyway, it was just a suggestion.
@javidx910 ай бұрын
Hi and thanks. My day job is hardware so I'm ok with it lol. I've used an MBED LPC1768 in a few videos on the channel. It's my MCU of choice, but it's not as cheap as the others. I'd like to do some more hardware videos, it's tricky as they need to be accessible and hardware/embedded usually requires some setup to get started.

Think we can get a video on programming on the android? I no longer have a laptop, but there is at least one ide on android (aide) and I think a few compilers, but android apparently needs a bunch of weird boilerplate stuff to work and all the tutorials are people with very heavy and hard to understand accents.
