How interesting! It really is a tourist site and not just a working studio lot, like Universal Studios used to be in California. I remember a drama, I think it was "A River Runs Through It," where the female lead takes a tour group through this studio. I believe the tourists could even rent period costumes to take photos in.

Thanks again for this very interesting video! This video dramatically illustrates how modern cities and modern architecture have deteriorated. This shows a city built on an human scale, not just a bunch of neon lights and glassy high rise monstrosities. It also shows that AvenueX is truly our "human sun" shining on our dramaland.

These studio setting tour videos have been fascinating! It seems like period dramas go through phases of popularity. I’ve read novels set in late 1970s China but I don’t think I’ve seen dramas set in those times.

Great vlog. Are there still trams running in original Shanghai? There used to be trams running in Kolkata in the previous century but now there's only a handful of them still running in central Kolkata. Trams here have two compartment.
