Houston is more worldly. Dallas is more Texan. they’re pretty much the same City, cool downtowns & endless suburbs. I live in both, and Houston is a little more interesting and fun city with more humidity and clouds, Dallas is brighter and dryer without a beach to run away to. Great lifestyle / housing / schools endless affordable entertainment for both. All about the suburb you pick at the end of the day. I’d say Houston is 4.7 stars and Dallas is 4.1 I like the nasa clear lake league city area of Houston and I like the western half of DFW Fort Worth / Saginaw / Roanoke Both downtowns are awesome and where id recommend non families to live.

That's a small fraction of what DFW has to offer, minus the lack of scenery in Houston. It is flat and disorganized, save for The Woodlands and Conroe. The lack of roads is also staggering in the Houston area. There are nice areas down there, but all feel inferior to north Texas.

@@PepperAnnT a little of both, it’s nothing like STL I will say. Everyone is minding theirs but getting to it. You have to be on a grind and STAY ON A GRIND. You have to stay ahead of the curve bc the house/rent prices are a lot more then StL. But the opportunities are endless but you have to be very selective on the field you get it. It’s not so Segregated like back at home. Don’t stay in a Dallas stay in the suburbs it’s nice and modern but not cheap. It’s nothing to see black people with money here. It’s always something new to see and do. Yes it’s a vibe but you have to stay focus. One last thing you have to network and save folks number bc everyone is friendly and is connected to something bigger. I could go on and on about DFw. I’ve been here for a year in the house and already built my house from the ground. Do you have a contact?

Dallas Skyline is gorgeous from the outside, once you drive inside is completely dead! Lol and keep your doors lock specially around greyhound and west end station! I think Houston is better. You have Galveston for a gateway drive or if you don’t like dark water you go down south to Corpus Christi or padre island. Dallas & H-town are both sprawling concrete oasis...lol....freeways galore! I've always felt & was told Dallas folks tend to 'look down' on Houston in terms of snobbery. And I think its true b/c whenever I meet people from Houston, they always say how they despise Dallas and can't stand it. But I never got the same sense from Dallasites? However, both cities are so spread out you definitely need a car to navigate. To me Dallas is more 'residential' city-burbs; basically densely populated city-like suburbs w/nothing to do. Shopping centers, mega malls or full of strip malls, fast food drive thru and CVS/Walgreens on every street intersection. The Dallas suburbs are too cookie cutter and basically clones of one another. Nothing really sticks out, and folks only live there b/c of the school systems. You really have to 'search' or know the specific spot of where you're going in Dallas. Its like Texas is so big you don't have that east coast vibe or intimate environment. In Texas, they just plot a building in the middle of no where or building a mixed-use style east coast shopping center, retail on the ground and residential apts above (ie -Plano/Frisco) in the middle of a field or not interwoven into other buildings and across the street is a vacant field or subdivision???? Just really weird how they build out here. Dallas is so spread out, there's no true "spot" or area where everyone hangs out, like a Peachtree St in the Atl or DC or something. No main drag. Dallas is def not a city for singles; Addison is nice but again Dallas just doesn't have that intimate feel/vibe with everything spread out over here/there. You spend more time driving 20-45 min, and it takes 20-30 min just to get to the freeways and once you're on them, you feel like you're driving for an eternity w/no place to go? Deep Elum and Uptown are also hangout spots downtown, reminds me of the east coast w/the brick row buildings. Dallas tries its best to emulate L.A and Miami but just can't pull if off. A ton of wannabes and perpetrators in Dallas. Ft Worth, more subtle, laidback. Dallas, just a ton of transplants and locals who walk around w/their noses in the air acting like they live in the Park Cities or Southlake. Everyone acts like they're too good or something & have sophistication. Just a different vibe than the east coast. Nice shopping in both cities and beautiful skyline. Dallas skyline w/the Reunion Tower and BOA tower is more iconic (esp at night) than Houston IMO.

Are talking about the City of Dallas or the entire Metro area? Yes, in Dallas County. I can only speak for the City of Dallas and Dallas County. Suburbs of Fort Worth I have no clue. Blacks are concentrated in Dallas County (Especially in DeSoto, Cedar Hill, Lancaster, etc) and they start to thin out a bit once you go outside of Dallas County (Ex: Collin County).

No matter the color of your skin, you’re only safe if you know Jesus .. you don’t have to worry anywhere in the world. God is good and will protect you if you trust him.
