dang i wish my walmark had a fishing section like yours

Yeah this is a decent one. 😊 That’s another reason why I linked everything in the video description for people to be able to get easily. I know all Walmarts aren’t created equally which makes no sense to me lol but it’s just the way it goes. We have 3 of them fairly close to us and they’re all different. 🤦🏻♂️😂

Ours doesn't have much, but also it's a bunch of saltwater stuff... We aren't very close to saltwater. And there are like 5 Walmarts here 🤦

Hey thanks! 👊🏽😊 Glad you enjoyed it! No problem haha Walmart is tricky because they’re just so inconsistent. 🤦🏻♂️😂 Sometimes they have some real quality stuff and you can score some great deals by where we live anyway, but for the most part I get all our gear on Tackle Warehouse. They have the better quality gear all the time, and ship fast to your door. Can’t really beat it especially if you are addicted to fishing gear like I am. 🤦🏻♂️😂 Thanks for the nice comment and thanks for watching. If you have any questions or anything don’t be shy I can talk fishing forever. 👊🏽🎣😁🤙🏽

Electrical tape on the reel does the same thing as mono backing. Put the electrical tape on there. Spool up tout raid and save the mono or fluoro for leader line.
@WhereWeWildАй бұрын
Yeah I used to do that when I was a kid before I realized I was just wasting the more expensive braid by filling the whole spool with it. I’d rather use that line for another reel where it will actually be used instead of it just being buried and wasted at the bottom of a spool. 🤙🏽
@franktwarrenАй бұрын
@WhereWeWild as much as I cut and re tie I probably woulda had to re spool my braud by now if I didnt do it that way
@WhereWeWildАй бұрын
Haha yeah see I can’t let that happen either man, I always need that line perfectly filled up to the lip of the spool to get max casting distance. If I have to cut too much off it’s all getting replaced when I get home. 😂🤙🏽

@@jasonlopez4855 Nice. 👊🏽 And yes sir, always rock those shades. 😎💯 I’ve had baits fly back at me many times, once had one actually crack a lens on my glasses cause it hit so hard.
@OutofluckpikerMJKАй бұрын
You don't need mono backing. Here in Sweden we use a small strip of sticky tape over the line on the spool, using a arbor knot to tie it to the spool. It saves you the price of the Mono line. Everybody has some sticky thin tape, almost.
@OutofluckpikerMJKАй бұрын
And yes I know backing can be done to save some money on expensive braided line, but, braided line often comes in 150yrds or 300yrds, and as such you will have a fair bit of braided line going into the bin. Unless you knit some shit out of it.
@WhereWeWildАй бұрын
I used to use the tape 👊🏽😊 But I found it’s better for me anyway to use the mono, and exactly because there really isn’t any need to have more than 150 yards of the more expensive braid on a 2500 size spool. Never get down that far. There’s so many ways you can do things fishing. Different knots, baits, left handed or right handed, gear ratios, rod actions, etc. All stuff like that really comes down to preference. Recently, (because I have problems lol) I started using a line counter so I can do the math and know the exact amount of mono to put on a certain spool to take the full 150 yards of braid perfectly to the top of the lip on the spool. Then I take a thin marker and put a mark on the spool where the mono ends, so next time I don’t have to use the line counter. 😎😂🤙🏽

@@edwinhassler04 Nice dude 👊🏽😊 Yeah they're solid. Especially if you take care of them they will last. Can't beat it for 30 bucks. Haha it's really funny too I have so many reels, some more higher end stuff… I’m a total gear junkie, and the two biggest bass I’ve ever caught in my life have come on a Sienna 2500, and a Sienna 4000. 😁 So I have a special place in my heart for them. 😎🤙🏽
@krispyk.1786Ай бұрын
Not a bad choice of braid- but I’d personally shell the extra 4-7 bucks for the V2 super slick from power pro- plus it’s a little easier on those Stainless steel guides.
@WhereWeWildАй бұрын
@@krispyk.1786 Oh yeah do you notice a big difference with it? I’ve never bothered trying it honestly haha because I’ve never had any problems with the plain old power pro, been using it for a long long time. Think it’s a really good choice especially for beginners. Haha I tend to keep it pretty simple with line. 😊🤙🏽
@krispyk.1786Ай бұрын
@@WhereWeWild mega difference! The main difference between standard PP (green box) and super slick (gold box) is that the gold box is a 8 carrier/strand braid meaning it’s much rounder and smoother on your guides- additionally on some reels it can dramatically increase casting range. Although standard power pro definitely has more toughness around lily pads and docks- imo my personal favorite braid for spinning reels is 6/8 pound fireline made by berkley
@WhereWeWildАй бұрын
@krispyk.1786 Hahaha I used to LOVE fireline! That was all I ever used growing up. I used the Crystal! Good stuff. 😁🤙🏽
@krispyk.1786Ай бұрын
@@WhereWeWild have you used their newer formulas? Currently fireline is a 8 carrier braid compared to their older 90’s-2010’s 4 carrier braid
@WhereWeWildАй бұрын
@krispyk.1786 No I haven’t used it in years, I thought they had stopped making it and then noticed it on Tackle Warehouse not too long ago. Lol I should try it again… 😂🤙🏽 I wonder if the fish can see that easier than they would the moss green. Not sure. Obviously have the clear leader but, the fish by me are so overly pressured that when I first moved out here and figured out the moss green was working for me I just stuck with that.

beginners shouldn’t be buying three types of line, just go straight fluorocarbon
@WhereWeWildАй бұрын
I respectfully disagree man. 😊 To each their own, but odds are a beginner won’t exactly be throwing a Loomis NRX+ and could use the extra sensitivity that braid offers to help them detect bites easier. Good fluoro is also more expensive and I think it’s good for a beginner to learn a solid line to line knot like the double uni, will come in handy in my opinion. 🤙🏽
