In your opinion is whey protein safe to use for diabetics, keeping in mind the insulin spike? OR ...Is plant protein the way to go?
@arne8972 жыл бұрын
*Not an expert*. In general adding fibre (eg. flax seeds) to something is an excellent way of lowering an insulin spike. I think this would have a bigger impact than the type of protein.
@rkirwan12 жыл бұрын
As long as the diabetic knows how to manage their condition appropriately (through exogenous insulin or food intake) (assuming type 1 diabetes). Plant protein will still spike insulin too (slightly less) but having it with some high fibre foods can blunt that too, as mentioned in the other comment.
