I love that you collected measurements and put them in a comprehensive spreadsheet! I think this would be very informative and helpful for anyone looking at any of these hatchets. Great video, thanks man. God bless!

I have several sizes of Fiskars X series hatchet, axe and splitter and I love them. They work soooo good and make very quick work of anything. The cost of them also is a huge factor because they’re much cheaper than the nice high end European axes.

Yeah, I was fairly impressed with the X7 in my work and testing.

Fun vid thanks. I've found the X7 is great for camping, plus the back can bash tent pegs without issue. Separately and 'cos I'm late to your channel - you had a great death-rope test and questions 6+ months ago on the Spyderco SERRATED knife. I love Spyderco serrated and if you want to cut PAPER and more normal stuff smoothly then get a FLAT ground e.g. Delica serrated which has 2.5mm stock with a taper (and comes in K390 which I've got and is my preferred daily carry). I've also got that Salt serrated you tested BUT it's HOLLOW ground and with a fat spine, so for reasons specific to serrations it's rubbish for cutting paper etc. so I don't really like it (apart from on death-rope ;) In short - pls try a flat ground thin Spyderco serrated ❤

Thanks for the perspective! I already have some slight reservations about hollow grinds with a large slab of friction forming full-thickness steel above the grind, so your observation makes sense! I'll keep my eyes open for FFG serrated options that are reasonable.

Thanks so much - I actually have a Husqvarna Carpenter's axe and absolutely love it! Tune in this weekend if you want to see me test it (it's featured in this week's coming video!) Cheers!
