I am intermediate level in German / Swedish / Norwegian and Portuguese and advanced level in Dutch (Dutch & English are the prettiest languages ever) and native speaker level in Spanish and beginner level in Welsh / Icelandic / Breton / Frisian / Hungarian / Faroese / Occitan / Gallo / Aranese / French / Burgundian / Manx / Irish / Scottish Gaelic / Italian / Galician / Catalan / Danish / Cornish / Luxembourgish / Guernsey / Limburgish / Norn / Gothic / Old Norse / Old English / Old Dutch / Vandałic / Slovenian / Afrikaans (by Frisian, I meant all three Frisian languages, namely West Frisian / North Frisian / East Frisian, and I am also learning all languages based on these languages that are referred to as dialects, but they are in fact different languages, especially the Italian-based languages and the German-based languages and the West-Vlaamse Dutch-based languages and the French-based language that’s spoken in Wallonia / Belgium and Yolo and the Scots Doric language etc) and the other pretty languages that are on my list of languages I want to learn and improve, which is extremely overwhelming!

I’ve served a lot of Portuguese people and they almost always tip (in coffee shops in Toronto), they always say please and thank you. And if they’re in line and it’s their time to get served but they’re deep in conversation with someone and don’t hear you they almost always apologize.

After all, there was no Croatia in the name of the country. That tells a lot.

Yep many people can speak english in Croatia, not only english but other languages too, German language is second most common language here beacuse a lot of people moved to Germany and Austria in the 1970s and this trend is still in Croatia today, money is main reason ofc, and its mandatory by the state here that kids in elementary school have to learn english or german but I would say 95% of them choose english so we have a lot of people who can speak english

Foreigners that dont know what horrors serbs did to croatians 30 years ago (and during yugoslavia) cant understand why croatians may dislike or even hate serbia, serbian governemnt/regime in particular. So asking croatians "what about serbia?" to spark something for content is a shitty way to get views. A lot of people killed and hurt by serbs 30 years ago still feel the consequences of that war. What happened 30 years ago is not that long ago. To think that british and americans and many other countries feel pain for ww1 and ww2 which happened nearly 100-70 years ago. So yeah, obvious reason why serbia is disliked or hated amongst croatians. Especially the serbian extremists which hunt and kill croatians living in serbia, and even croatia. News dont say anything about this because a lot of it has been covered by Udba in the past.

I have been to Croatia last year for two weeks in winter I stayed in OSIJEK....I have to say I enjoyed staying and I wanted to extend my visit ...people are so nice and would like to help any time and they have wonderful cuisines. Mark Twain (a great American writer) once said, "The coldest winter I ever spent was summer in San Francisco." SF, Seattle, and Portland were all once great, but now overrun with homeless people - and all the social problems that come with it. Los Angels and Venice Beach also. Avoid at all costs! However, several coastal areas are great in both California and Oregon. Cannon Beach, Oregon area is fantastic! We also have great national parks worth visiting. Be advised... the East Coast gets very chilly in winter. New England is fantastic! New York City - not so much. Many homeless and crime is on the rise. As a Croat, I have nothing against the Serbs. I have a lot of Serb friends. It was all politics on both sides that turned us against each other back in the day.. Thankfully the ice is finally starting to thaw out and we can find respect for each other once again.. 🇭🇷 🤝 🇷🇸
