Ok, here's the million dollar question. Does Voyage without trims top the pacing list? Assuming 90 seconds is accurate, it does move up to #1 by about 4 feet per second over Xiamen's Jungle Trailblazer

I actually thought Boardwalk Bullet would be much higher length, but I had no idea about all those Chinese coasters. I also thought it would be much higher in pacing, but the compact nature of the ride probably makes it feel much faster than it really is. In the end, though, if a roller coaster _technecally_ doesn't have as good pacing as other roller coasters, all that matters is if it feels like it has good pacing.

See, you have a different definition of "pacing" than I do. It looks like you are trying to make it objective by reducing it to average velocity during prime ride time, which is understandable when trying to rank it. But to me, pacing has more to do with getting in a good number and variety of elements, and also with the transitions between them... which does seem to be a norm within the enthusiast community. For example, I have heard reviews of Great Bear that complain about the pacing, because of the nearly straight-track sections needed to weave around SDL. Those sections are low to the ground and therefore fast, which if you reduce pacing to mere speed, would actually drive it UP in rankings, even though nothing interesting is happening in that segment. If I had to reduce pacing to something objective, maybe I'd make it something like seconds per element, although that too would be flawed, since some elements benefit greatly from being drawn out, such as floater air hills. I just want to add that I love the channel and your content. I've been commenting a lot lately, mostly voicing areas where I disagree, but as a fellow enthusiast, I kinda feel comfortable discussing those areas. It doesn't detract in any way from my appreciation of the effort you put into it. (I say all this because you rank Twister at Grona Lund last in pacing... and to me that looks like a really fun ride.)
@jeffc13474 жыл бұрын
Hades was my #1 coaster when it opened in 2005. 4 years later it was one of my least favorite wooden coasters, its a shame such a great layout is at such a terrible park.
