Great review as usual. It sounds like if you want a Manchu bow like the Yarha but your arms aren't long enough to draw 35" because you aren't an orangutan, you get a Qinghai. I'm guessing the Alibow Qinghai gets higher arrow speeds because its siyahs and string bridges are lighter, since both bows have roughly the same powerstroke (which is just an inch less than the Yarha's powerstroke). Perhaps the AF Qinghai would perform a little better with a lower brace height. I'll definitely have to add one of these to my stable.

Great review, Armin! I wonder - the alibow Qinghai is the regular one (string length 130cm), not the short one, correct?

Dear Mr. Armin, I am struck by the professionalism with which he illustrates the various types of bows. It could, sooner or later make a video about the correct way to string the various kind of bows? You explain to me that there are several ways to do this but some bows require special caution. Still congratulations for another great video.

it's nice to see that af starting with very cheap not the best bows is really becoming a nice bow maker. it would be great if they could get along with european archery shops to buy their bow easier.

I have found buying dirrect from Alibow very easy - the ower is a getleman who is very helpful and is an experienced asisiatic archer himself so he knows his stuff - more like buying from an enthiusiast than a shop !

I have one question and one advice. Question is do we need the thumb ring to do this draw style all the time? Advice is you should put a Polarizer on your camera to cut down harsh highlights
@ArminHirmer4 жыл бұрын
As you see shooting, I almost never use a thumb ring. But sure in the long run it's better. I have a Nd filter on my osmo action, another filer does not fit at the same time
@jp25034 жыл бұрын
@@ArminHirmer thank you for your response. I think maybe polar pro makes a dual purpose ND and Polarizer. I have one for a larger camera, not sure about for GoPro and osmo. Another solution could be using the large square ones and putting it in a bracket. Thanks for letting me know about the thumb ring is there any major pros to it?
@ArminHirmer4 жыл бұрын
@@jp2503 I am fine with what comes out of it. Brackets and stuff adds too much work around. I think in most cases, the video quality is fine for what I do. Once I do cinematic, I will reconsider :D Thumbrings will give you a cleaner release and they don't tear your skin as much as when you shoot bare thumb like I do :) once you are used to a ring, it will work fine

So i am looking into getting into Asiatic archery. I have a 70 pound compound, easy to draw, 50 lbs traditional recurve, and a static recurve that i made at 30 lbs. I have mad 3 other longbows all around 35lbs and have a 70 lbs warbow i am currently making. I practice thumb release with my 30 lbs and the stress on my thumb is no issue, my Mediterranean draw is 29in, and it seems my thumb draw is around 30 or 31in. I am 6'2" 215 and in good shape. I was thinking on getting a Qinghai Tibetan bow at 50lbs as i already have a 30 pound bow to practice thumb release. I've been doing compound archery since i was 12 years old, and traditional since i was 21. I am 34 years old. I would like to believe that a 50lbs thumb draw would be fine for me. Any thoughts would be appreciated?
@ArminHirmer4 жыл бұрын
You should try to draw a 59# just with the thumb a few times. I think it is a bit to much for your thumb, even if you have the muscles for it

Two questions for anyone here who has some experience being a thumb draw instinctive shooter. One, how far is the accurate range of instinctive thumb draw (so how far could you hit one of the big circular imperial archery targets without misses)? Two, no one else in my club really shoots instinctive thumb draw. I've seen the videos of people who tought themselves on this channel and they seemed good, but how do you find your flaws and improve without the help those who have faced the same problems? Any advice would be appreciated

same as with three finger, a matter of practice. I showed already a few they only learned from YT and got very far. Small details of course needed to be fixed

Also do you twist the strings to get the correct brace height, or is the supplied strings supplied to get the correct brace height?

the strings should usually fit. if not with some bows you can twist, other bows don't like that

The weight of the arrows will effect hand shock and bow vibration?

The heavier arrows absorb more energy from the bow, reducing the vibration of the bow.
